I'm continually astounded with Tiernan's versatility. His sensitivity in interviewing this lady and letting her shine was amazing. On the other side she was made to feel at ease and she came across very elequent.

Stay positive Karin, the fact that you want to get sober is the first big step, don’t try and do it on your own, there are people out there who are more than willing to help, I’m sober now for 37 years and it’s all positive

As an addict in recovery this was a really good interview it was so relatable the Chaos the pain and the damage that was caused and its the best thing seen people get well it's a miserable existence we only have 1 life and its so sad seen people trow it away jails institutions and death is always the end results god bless any struggling addict if you read this just know its possible to get clean if you put the work in and eventually life gets better don't give up

Everything is doable. That candle for herself gave her the strength to do the first right thing in her addiction. Addiction, not a easy void to fill, it takes a lot of filling to quench the illusion of happiness. We'll done. Whatever work's. 👍

A great view was this, all addictions be it food or drugs - gambling etc etc is a progression, some people claim they can balance things but lots of people are also in denial. Nobody plans the journey, things just go a bit turbo and before you know it you have a full blown addiction, being honest to yourself is a good start getting back on track. I gave up smoking in 2012 after being a smoker for about 27 years, smoked a lot of weed too, not touched a cig or joint 10 years now and it feel like I was never a smoker, now I'm battling a bad gambling addiction that has dominated a lot of my life, it's the hardest battle I've ever been in.

As a Christian and a former addict I can relate to both the addiction and the power and the love of God. Like Jessica said my life is far from perfect and so is mine, but I dread to think what I would be like today without the saving grace of jesus; maybe I might be dead

I’m crying watching this and what should be the focus here is that the whole purpose of having a faith is to believe in miracles and the love of God and what’s clear here is a woman who was completely broken in spirit and mind and body who the streets couldn’t save or the drugs didn’t save or a prison couldn’t save was saved by God and has now gone on to save many more in Jesus’ name. This is the perfect example of a modern day miracle

Please realise it wasn't God who abused you - it's people and Satan who do evil things - God weeps with us when we hurt and also has a plan to restore us if we will turn to Him and allow Him to heal us. God can "restore the years that the locusts have stolen" with His perfect Love. God Bless you.

While I have every sympathy for those lives have been torn apart by any of the many and various addictions out there, what tends to get lost between our cynical, destructive drug wars and the terrible stories of those who have been consumed by the drugs they consume is that addiction is not the inevitable conclusion or result of taking drugs. As heretical as this will sound, I know a good many people who follow Aristotle's advice: "All things in moderation, no thing to excess." Responsible, productive, happy people who take a little trip now and then and profit from the experience. Now, part of this is due to the fact that not all drugs are the same. Crack cocaine is not DMT. Alcohol is not cannabis. Etc, etc. But another far less well known factor is that habituation and addiction occur along a spectrum, like anything else. Both physiologically and psychologically, different people react differently to the same substances. Take alcohol, which has caused more mayhem, by far, than all the other drugs combined. It can be brutally, brutally addictive, and yet, most of the people who use it are not actually addicted to it. The only sane policy is harm reduction, which is not an empty catchword. We need to educate ourselves as to what this entails. And we need to move from punishment and prohibition to compassion and education.
