I remember using that gel when i first started. But i did not know anything about styling techniques. Or how to have healthy curly hair. I was just scrunching in the gel. No contitioner whatsoever 😅 but the gel somehow made my hair look kinda decent. I am glad this worked out so well for you. Maybe i need to rediscover this gel with my now healthier hair 😊

Beautiful results! I have been finding alot of Twist products at the Dollar Tree! The oil, lotion, refresher, co wash, shampoo & conditioner, Bounce Boss, bond repair and primer. Love all of your suggestions. For some reason, I can't put hairspray on my hair before I break the cast. If I do, it totally frizzes up. I heard it was supposed to give extra hold, not for my hair. Summer hair with the humidity sucks. If I can get at least 2 good hair days in the summer, I'm good! Tfs! Blessings!

I'd actually heard that from someone else too! I need to get to a Dollar Tree to check it out. That's so interesting. I get the frustration though. Humidity makes it so hard to deal with the frizz.

I actually have type 3A-B hair and can only use the gel on it's own (I'd over moisturize if I used all the other stuff) It's a nice gel, I definitely got elongation, but the hold was just ok.

That's definitely fair. I wouldn't use the detangler in this line up again for that reason. If I did it every wash day, I would definitely end up over moisturizing. And if agree with your opinion on the gel. Ours good, but really needs to be paired with something else for the best hold. Good to know that it can cause elongation

As for the shampoo and conditioner, I find the biggest impact isn't necessarily which exact ones you use as it is making sure you're using what you're hair needs at the time. So if your hair needs clarified, using something more cleansing. If it's dry, making sure you're going in with more moisture. And things like that. I hope that helps!

Nope! You definitely don't need a curl or wavy hair specific shampoo and conditioner. ☺️ In fact, on wavy hair, those can sometimes be too moisturizing. I'll try to do more reviews on shampoo's and conditioners going forward. 👍
