Thanks for the excellent clear, detailed lesson and for sharing this cool lick! Great break down and explanation of dynamics, orchestration and displacement. I know you can't cover everything in a 15 min lesson but I would've liked to have heard you incorporate this lick as a fill after playing a few bars of time, either straight 8s or shuffle type groove etc. I'm going to practice this lick and play around with it to see how I can use it both as a groove and a fill..

The lick as a groove, at the end: I hear a double kick going on. Its the only concept played without the sticking shown on screen. What is the sticking (and kicking) for the groove, please? Anybody? Thanks.

RLRLLK RLRLLK with a kick under the first R of group 1, and the first R of group 2 is the backbeat.
