Hi Joe. I love the fact that you can transcribe, then learn to play and explain all this amazing stuff. But I worry about what must be going on between Vinnies ears for him to come up with it in the first place!

Excellent presentation of this lick. You're right. . not so sure where i'd use it, but i'm sure gonna try to learn it.

woah! u're great dude! I've never seen anyone so brave to teach Colaiuta's fills! xD

@carlrobinson114 It's because if you just say 1 a + e you may not know which a + e are being talked about. It's also quicker than saying "the and of 1, the e of 2 and the and, err of 4". Also, and probably most importantly, I don't always know what the accents are, so I'm saying it for my benefit ;)

@BarefootAndrew I wouldn't worry about it :) Years of playing, messing around with a lot of Gary Chaffee stuff, doing 3 sessions a day. That's what it comes down to. I'm basically writing down what a poet says so you can say it too. I'm not writing poetry. i'm hoping that by reading enough poetry it'll inspire me to come up with new ideas of my own.

hi the Vinnie link on this has vanished now ...it got taken down : ( i got this pattern working today.The key thing to note is lead the doubles (in the last bar) with right foot or you end up on your left.I had the habit of playing all "e" and the "a" in all phrases with a left foot .... :)

I think vinnie might use a single pedal for this fill? I could be wrong, but i think he generally uses single pedal for fills of that nature judging from various videos of his drum clinics.

dayummnnn... 5 star man... Im a weckl fan, but i realize Vinnie has some serious chops/ideas there.. he may not have the fluidity of weckl, but his playing is certainly out of this world.. no wonder he is a drummers' drummer...
@stretch546 жыл бұрын
Weckl plays more clinical. Vinnie comes at drumming in a more humorous way and with attitude and balls.
@twelge1513 жыл бұрын
Except Vinnie plays it with one foot.

why do all drum teachers think that its helpful to sound out all 1ea+2ea+ etc and just say one of them louder? soooo annoying!!! just say the ones you want us to know!!! its confusing!!
