The hihat on the original is incredible. So fast yet so quiet with amazing dynamics

Hi Stuart - great lesson thanks. Just got a new band going and i am learning Seven days. Got about 3/4 of the way through it but I was ad-libbing to some extent. Now you have explained, the 3s and 4s accents on hi-hat, I am hopeful to crack this after several weeks of toil!

I love Vinnies odd grooves. Maybe give us a breakdown of the 9/4 in I Hung My Head?

This is a great lesson! Is the loop available for purchase/download? What are you tapping to start.stop the loop?

Larry Spivey striking a Roland pad hooked up to the TM2 which is loaded with the loop. Yes, I can email you the loop, HMU at stewartj@mi.edu.

In the original track, I hear two kicks before the side stick, not one. Also, during the video of him demonstrating it, he throws in two kicks.. am I hearing a kick or a over synthesized hat accent?

In the original track its one kick. He does 2 live

Another cool one he does with that groove is slightly open the hats every other accent of the 4 pattern to make a kind of 2 over 5 pattern. Love this tune. Nice lesson!

tdrum21 yes! And every fill going into each chorus is brilliant.
