No way! WTF just even happened! WOOHOO, this is spectacular! Something weird was going on at 8:50 when he started playing those fast singles on the snare. The sound was coming in and then going out even though he kept the actual strokes going. I wonder whether this was intentional ie. he used the range of the pick-ups in the hardware ( though I didn't see him moving his wrist forward and back for each 8 notes in the roll,) Or was this sound unintentional ( highly unlikely) ie. he was playing too far away from the pick-ups? I didn't see him using any other type of flanging pedal/effect? Anyway, this was next -level! Great find to the dude who recommended it.🏆🏆🏆

Andrew I've extremely new to drumming like, 3 months, and your break downs have help me to understand what I'm seeing and introduce me to concepts I didn't even know where concepts :) I know it will contribute to me being a better drummer. As for "D. SCHMITT" the name I'm calling him because, like Steph Curry the "D" stands for "Don't miss"!!!! This guy never and I mean NEVER MISSES!!!!

This hits me sonically like Return to Forever. Fretless bass (?) is killer. Such a tight groove! Edit: add in a little early Jeff Lorber (hard fusion). This why nobody can adequately define jazz.

that exact kit he's playing there im going to guess that ones in the 10k region he has an extra floor tom and 2 cymbals the hi hat alone is 1400 British pounds i think the whole set up and not sure if that includes the throne kick pedal hi hat or snare stand. its 7k actually just jumped over and the 706 isn't actually available at the moment but that has to be the one i played in the shop as that was 100 percent the td 50 drum module the 504 is the td27 module but what i was thinking of doing is going for the vad 504 with the td 27 module and adding that easy drummer software i hear its really good the samples that you can then use 2 change the drum sounds on your e kit. now i was first introduced to a Roland e kit when i was about 12 years old and I started my drum lessons nice guy great drummer called mick Coyle so Thats what he had was electric Roland with mesh heads and I was really impressed back then but my kit at home was a premier acoustic from the 70s wich i should have never sold but after years of drumming i started getting police at the door with noise complaints so that was that lol so any way i am currently on a Alessi's and its great for the money and good for practice as its quiet but the feeling just well I hate it to be honest and I have just never been comfortable on it and I just feel like I wanted the acoustic to feel at home lets say and e hi hats are terrible but then Roland went and made the new digital hat and ride cymbal and were getting great reviews so I thought I have to try this so me and the wife went for spot of lunch so perfect opportunity to stop in at guitar guitar and i tried the 2 real acoustic looking vads i think 507 and the 706 they even had the sample pad all set up aswell and it was awesome but its in the shop and as much as i would love to give it garth out of Wayne's world and blast out an incredible solo lol but for what i did play it was really good the bass drum so much better feeling hi hat was great and the ride and that was the first thing i picked up on in comparisons between the much cheaper Alessi's and the Roland the hat had so much more dynamics and the ride cymbal and because of the size of the Roland cymbal its so much easier to play at speed on the ride cymbal rather than the small crap e cymbals on every other e drum kit and even Roland's base models look like they use the same. now after watching this its a no brainer isn't it it was brilliant but then that guy demean Schmitt could make buckets sound that good lol but great video i see the Spaniard has a pearl e kit in his new studio so Thats also going to be interesting and i would bet the Yamaha ones are really good also but for me the way it feels like a real drum kit i think the vads the one great video Mr Rooney

I've been a drummer for about 40 years, never played an e-kit or know much about them, but does choking an E cymbal do the same as choking a regular cymbal or is that just for show?

Ive sampled that vad td 50 kit its awesome but i think im going to buy the vad 504 1 up 1 down and a few dab loons cheaper i sampled both much better than my current Alessi's set up lol

barbès is my favourite tracks from them. I love the studio recorded one and seeing it with different musicians is very sick along with damien singing ! but one thing, i am MAD at those toms, roland modules are capable of WAY better sounds than that on their VAD.

@@AndrewRooneyDrums This one in particular is extra tasty and just has that spin he puts on things. It honestly sounds a lot like a trimmed down version of The Mars Volta. One of they were to not have so many different layers happening at once. It blew my mind that it was essentially improv he just pulled out of thin air.
