What gets me is the non-reaction of the audience. Im not "in music". I cant really play any instrument. However...I know what I like, especially when I dont get it. Im a musical moron +1. Im aware enough to know, when I experience "special". How is the audience not 100% caught up in what Cory Henry does? If I were in the studio I would be standing and rocking out at minute 8:30. I wouldnt give a fuck if the rest of the audience was still sitting. This shit was incredible and moving AF. When you are too involved to recognize something unique and masterfull, you are in the way. And if you think the correct reaction to seing true unique mastery is a polite smile and cautious applause...GET FUCKED.

Who is this tool?(sorry) Danny Carey is the best drummer in the world after the sad demise of Neil Peart, the professor. Who was in my opinion the best drummer of all time.

Can you believe that Black Sabbath was this amazing? Vocalist change, keep the same feeling.

There is not a problem to talk about Bonham and Bill at the same time, 'cause they were friends. But Led is nothing in comparison to Black Sabbath, and I mean it with all the singers (Dio, Tony Martin...). Black Sabbath created a genre of music, Led was a band full of lawsuits of plagiarism, a good, great band, but a rock and roll band. Black Sabbath created heavy metal and inlfluenced people to create at least 10 other genres of music. This is absolute mindblowing.

We got like five songs in one, 'cause we are Black Sabbath...love that. Had the same feel in my first listen to this song, when I was about 11 years old. Love from Brazil

This song is so underrated and few folks know it. This one just steams along and it's the drums that make the song, to me, even more than the vocals.

Bill Ward is a god. Maybe the best ever, there's days when I think he is. So creative, always found the perfect beat for any riff Iommi could throw at him. Some other great Ward performances are Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Backstreet Kids, All Moving Parts Stand Still. But really, every single Sabbath track with Bill Ward is a classic drum performance.

I met Michael Shreve in Seattle. I told him he had the best drum solo ever recorded. I always assumed someone would record a better drum solo but no one ever has David Letterman had the best drummers in America on his show for three weeks and no one has dropped this performance at Woodstock, it makes me a little sad that no one has done a better job in recorded drumming history, but it just proves how good Michael Shreve is.

What’s so beautiful about bringing in Josh is that he is the perfect man and drummer, to help that band heal, change direction, and become something entirely new altogether. In the wake of Taylor’s passing, I can’t think of any other person that could possibly have taken over. Those personal connections that go back decades. That musical landscape they inhabit. His reliability, solidity, and technicality were so needed in the turmoil of their loss. Not just a safe pair of hands, but a safe heart too. He felt it as much as they did. He’s grieving too. He’s taking them all back to where they started, in joy, in noise, in punk. But with maturity, musicality and an assurance based on honed skills now. Deep in the pocket. Tight. He knew what he and that band needed and it was to honour what inspired them to do what they do. How else could they have carried on? It’s beautiful to see them enjoying playing and sounding so different, and even more poignantly, so fresh and vital.

playing without a click or metronome is basically like driving a car on the autobahn when you just keep going and dont check yourself, you start off going 120 but the longer the ride the faster you go at the end, because the brain gets used to the tempo then that becomes the norm, but you're getting faster along the way just by yourself

The mob in the beginning was the band and some of the crew, was about 8 people. They recorded several takes and overlapped them to get that mob sense. They were drinking the entire time while recording the mob. This is what I read in the book Chemistry.

You said something I've never heard about Neil's playing. His fundamentals were absolutely sound. They were the bedrock upon which everything he played was built.
