KAT KTMP1 Multipad Overview

Picked up a KTMP1 3 years ago to use as Congo's for the Bass player in a live 2 minute all percussion piece. It sounded so good I ordered the kick pedal and use it for small gigs where there's not much stage room now :) The cymbals aren't the best sounding so I take my own Hi Hat, Ride & Crash. Two of the other guys bought one too for our percussion stuff. The KTMP1 works well in a small venue and has a full drum kit kick ass sound! We love playing the bars and with the KTMP1 taking up less room, we've gotten more gigs in the smaller venues :) Life is good :)

That is exactly what I'm thinking. I'm about to get one. You could do restaurant gigs. Really anything you could do with a cajon to the sky is the limit 👍

What kind of stand were you using on this video? I don't see any clamps, so it's obviously not a snare stand.

I have KAT KTMP1. A rattle has developed in pad 4 when impacted, and tends to sustain at a low level momentarily.in the amplifier. I'm unable to separate the two outside body elements to inspect inside for remediation. All 8 assembly screws have been removed.. Any clues to accessing the interior to fix the problem. Otherwise it's a great unit.

I'm really interested in getting one of these but had a question. Would I be able to sample say a keyboard riff, say like the intro to a song that's a few minutes long. Download it to my computer, then connect the Kat pad via the USB and be able to trigger that keyboard sample with this??? Just don't want to purchase the wrong thing!!!

how do you program the different pads .and the bass drum trigger to just do bass drum sounds only

Im wondering if there is any chance of using the multi pad as a module for triggering an acoustic bass drum trigger. A lot of people offers me different drum modules, but I would really love to do that whit Kat's multi pad. thanks!

Hi, answers here 1 - The pad has 50 hi-quality sounds. You cannot add more sounds. 2 - There are no storage banks. 3 - The instrument does not have user storage. It retains the last settings whenever changed.

Hello, please let me know if I can assign different sounds to the two pedals and if I can use pedals switch on/off. Thanks in advance!

You can assign the bass drum input to any sound in the module but the hi-hat pedal input can only be assigned to a hi-hat sound unless you are using software sounds via a computer. In that case you can assign the open, closed, and closed hit to any sound via midi note number changes.

what does the sound come out of? i have a fender mustang guitar amp and a speaker that is used for a microphone

Have you figure how to connect it to the Mustang? I also have the Mustang and would record a loop to jam along.

I have learned that the mustang amp is not a very compatible nor good option. You can use a PA system, like a speaker for a microphone. I have a small 8" microphone speaker that i confirmed with the guitar center guy will work with the KTMP. Your Just gonna shell out another 120 or so for a speaker unfortunately. =/
