Great video! Years ago I played in a band and did a lot of big shows. There was something wrong with one of the ableton sessions where it basically skipped a beat in the middle of the song. So all of a sudden there was a 3/4 where there should have been a 4/4… so the whole band was 1 beat out of sync with the backing 😅. It happened more than once too… The third time it happened our drummer just yelled out ‘3!’ and we all played a 3/4 getting us back in sync.

Student audio tech/stage tech here. I find this video very cool and interesting for a multitude of reasons. First of all, it's amazing to see the perspective of various band members, but it's also amazing that we get to hear exactly what you're hearing through your IEMs. As a student, I found it really fascinating how later after your set, your monitors engineer explained what happened and where the communication issues were. It truly is an invaluable learning experience to be able to hear the teams communication during stressful issues at performance time. Amazing save, you guys killed it!

They would have had the click for the next track. They mentioned how Ableton (The software DAW they were using) needed to be restarted. So they wouldn't have been able to jump back in with clicks in that song cuz there's no way they would have been able to line it up with the band. But, the next one would have been good to go.

Gabe, I earned some of my most valuable playing experience from a church I attended for 9 years. Not just Sunday mornings. We sometimes traveled to other locations. David's Tent in Washington DC was one of them. It's non-stop 24 hour music. Myself and a few band mates from church booked a time slot. The music literally cannot stop. We had to slide in as the previous musicians slid out. It was WAY outside my comfort zone, but in a very healthy way, and ultimately so exhilarating. Learned a lot about playing with a band and being OK with unplanned parts of a performance. Being led by the spirit. Having a structure and a plan, but leaving room for free-flow adaptations. Not always possible depending on the situation, and it's a little more common / easier to do in worship territory anyway.. but I think any band in any genre can benefit from it as it produces some of the most genuine authentic moments.

I am sorry for always being slow in understanding. I just watched this video again with Japanese subtitles. I am very surprised. In fact, my father has a disease that causes stiffening of tendons all over his body. He had to have it surgically removed about 15 years ago because a nerve in his back was compressed by it. The operation was successful, but my father's body is less flexible than most people because of his disease (constitution). I have a little bit the same constitution as my father. But like you and my father, I do not need surgery. But he is ridiculously energetic and positive. My father does not speak English but he is interested in foreign countries, he likes to travel and he often takes me with him. (He doesn't go abroad very often 🤣)I love my father. What I am trying to say is that you need time to recover. If you are in pain, medication, time and people around you can help ease it. Please don't rush it, take plenty of time and take your time to heal. Brian, get better soon!!!!❤️🔥

I've never used in ears during a show, but I also never played an Arena or a big Festival. It's ALWAYS on the drummer to keep the band in time, so even amidst that debacle you kept it going strong Gabe. I've seen this video before but I have been living vicariously through you in the last 2 days by binging these POV videos. They are incredibly helpful to show the world how hard it is to deliver with such a big audience! You all crushed it, and I am sure Brian approved of the job the buys did in covering his parts. That takes pure balls of steel to step into that shadow and try to do it justice. All in all I'd say HUGE success! Wishing Brian a speedy recovery, even tho I know this is post op and he is getting back to a full bill of health. That's the important part more than anything for the band alone, and the audiences' reactions says it all!!! Killed it!!

Loving this video, just commenting about what goes on through my mind before a performane. When I used to perform (piano player) for concerts and shows, started Classical, done Jazz/Blues/Rock/Latin, any genre of music that I could learn to expand my knowledge. To me it was silencing the crowd in your mind and hitting that first note. After that, your natural instincts kick in and you just play. For me, my fingers just moved, and even if I hit a wrong note, I would flow right over it as if it was part of the song. Music is the ultimate language and being able to tell your story with your instrument is one of the best feelings ever. Thank you for this amazing POV video. I can feel 2nd hand anxiety from this video from that moment right before playing. Except for you its a sold out arena! Love for Brian! Love for I Prevail!

Said it last week to a friend of mine. Everyone, no matter how big the band is, who plays in front of fans, is an absolute machine. You guys have to nail it every single time. For you guys its normal, routine but thinking about the effort, chapeau.
