🎶 For the Memory of a Lifetime, Recall, Recall, Recall 🦋🎶 I've been on Total Recall non-stop since December! Another Rob Bottin Masterwork, just like Robocop and The Thing. "Ya blabbed Quaid! Ya blabbed about Mars!"

Paul Verhoeven deserves more credit. He has such an impressive resume: Robo-Cop, Starship Troopers, Hollow Man, Total Recall… Robo-Man, Starship Cop, Hollow Troopers…. Show Girls?

This was such a great film, so much fun and visually stunning for it's time!! A movie I completely forgot about was "The Game" with Michael Douglas, directed by the ones who brought us "Seven"!!

Aside from the first two Terminator films, Total Recall is my favorite Arnie vehicle, neck and neck with Predator. It's also my favorite Paul Verhoeven film after RoboCop. I remember being 6 years old and disappointed that I wasn't allowed to see this in the cinema, since I had already seen the aforementioned films on video (not counting T2); my parents only permitted R rated movies at home. Once it did come out on VHS though, I was hooked.

I JUST finished rewatching total recall just for this review. This movie is great, I think the last time I watched it was 2 years ago. I’ve seen it a few times but not as many times as other Arnold’s movies and as far as Paul verhoeven’s movies go definitely not as MANY times as Robocop because robocop is my fav movie ever. Paul verhoeven is one of my favorite directors. This movie is the definition of crazy lol I’ve never read the book. I think this is one of the most entertaining performances by Arnold, the song theme of this movie is sooooooooo good. The practical effects are pretty good despite a few of them are noticeable. And this movie is a masterclass of Matte painting and other stuff. I like the ambiguity in this movie, you can have your own interpretation, it is very interesting and I love the humor in this movie such as “2 weeeeekls” or the woman with 3 breasts or “consider it a divorce”😂😂😂😂 and obviously the violence in this movie is pretty good, SO TYPICAL of verhoeven’s filmography. There’s Definitely nice violence in this. Another thing I really enjoy about this movie is the production design, it looks pretty good and futuristic. The performances are very solid too. I’d say although this movie is great I don’t think it’s so rewatchable like robocop or starship troopers even hollow man. But it’s a great film. My rating is 9/10 for it. I’ve seen the remake many years ago and didn’t like it, I’ll definitely watch it JUST because your upcoming review lol if you weren’t gonna post a review of the remake I certainly wouldn’t want to rewatch it but who knows, maybe I change my mind. And just one question, Lee. Will you review bad boys ride or die ???????? I hope so.

I was surprised to hear how involved Arnold was when I watched the Behind the Scenes on the Blu-Ray. Purchased rights to the material, and hand picked Verhoeven to be the director. This film was probably a VFX marvel at the time of its release. The makeup fx are still amazing, and MOST of the miniature fx work still holds up. Perfect cast, great fx, and a smart script. This was probably the first big budget ultra-violent thinking man's sci-fi action film. They don't make them that much, and I wish they would. Upgrade wasn't big budget, but it's a step in the right direction.

The bloodiness of that first act gun chase was just…different. All of the awesome gore of a slasher but the pacing of Terminator. It’s just one of the movies that captures the distinct time jump from 80s action to 90s action. It was one of the last movies where audiences accepted colorful camp. By 1995/1996 of course, action audiences wanted either all black, or chrome. And then Blade happened lol

RoboCop was this man's magnum opus by far! I saw Robocop at the theater twice. I was twelve. Maybe eleven. But as soon as it came to video, we owned it. The old two VCR dub. Just like with the Friday the 13th early movies. However those were a bit easier. They were on a bit on HBO Showtime and TMC and Skinamax. The remake of this film I did see and it was a struggle to get through for me. Sharon Stone was more than likely a hot babe in this film. But I can guarantee anyone 💯% that in True Lies Jamie Lee Curtis sad "Hold my beer". There was something about her in the 80s. Trading Places, A Fish Called Wanda(hilarious), Blue Steel, and True Lies, you know the scene. She wasn't afraid to show her beautiful well, self. And she was just unbelievable.

I finally watched this movie today with my mom on 4K and I did enjoy this movie but it does has its flaws tho and I will get into it soon and Douglas Quaid played by Arnold Schwarzenegger he did a great job as the main character in this movie and he was awesome for this role and he was so badass as this character too and he sure was so funny in this movie and he sure did cracked me up Lee big time bro and Lori Quaid played by Sharon Stone she did a great job but she was barely in this movie tho but she still did a great job when she was on screen tho and she was awesome as a side character villain in this movie too and she sure is so incredible sexy as hell bro and she is so gorgeous too and I’m a fan of her now love her to death man and Richter played by Michael Ironside he did a great job too and he was so awesome for this role but he was barely in this movie tho but he still did a great job when he was on screen tho and Melina played by Rachel Ticotin she did a great job too as well and she was awesome for this role and she was badass as this character too and she is so beautiful and gorgeous too and Benny played by Mel Johnson Jr he did a great job too as well and he was so awesome for this movie and he sure did cracked me up Lee big time brother and he was very interesting character too and finally Vilos Cohaagen played by Ronny Rox he did a good job as the main villain in this movie and he did a awesome job for this film role too and he was badass as this character role too as well and overall I’m gonna give Total Recall (1990) Original a 8/10 stars I really did enjoyed this movie for what it was but could of been little bit better if it had some sexual content for a change and have the movie be little bit longer too and didn’t not like the ending that much but that’s just me tho in my opinions and thoughts on this movie Drumdums brother

Thank you, Google. Something I've often wondered about, but no one ever speaks of, so finally decided to Google it. You see, my dad had the book Total Recall, but it said on the cover it was by Piers Anthony. So often wondered why everyone keeps talking about this Wholesale book. Turns out, Piers did write this, kinda, he wrote the novelization of the movie, and was given an early draft of the movie, why the few changes, like Quaid's name being Quayle for example. Now that mystery for me has finally been solved. Anyways, I did enjoy this movie, remake, well, I'll wait, but spoiler, didn't like as much. Thank you, Lee.
