The Brilliance Of The Terminator (1984)

I said I'd be back... so here I am! For the last several months, I've been whipping this up - recording, editing, revising, computer crashing, recording again, editing again, and so on...
I wanted to make this the greatest, and longest Brilliance Of to date, and it seems I achieved just that. I hope you all enjoy the video, and experience the final product of what I've invested all of my effort into for over the last half year!

Lived your review. The original Terminator is my favorite movie of all time. You talked about so many great things that for me, also made it so great, especially in 1984 when I was 9 yrs old.

Thank you so much! The Brilliance Of episodes are usually fairly short, but I had to give this one extra time. I wasn't born until 1987, so I couldn't enjoy the theater experience, but I loved it the first time I watched it as a kid (which was probably too soon for my age, heh). I'm so glad you enjoyed the video.

It's a wild thing when you compare them to the actors who took the same roles for Terminator : Genisys (which was probably my least favorite of the franchise). I think Emilia Clarke is a fair actress, but she was not Sarah Connor, you know?

Lol great video man! I remember watching this as a kid in the 80's and was scared out my mind! Kyle Reese's line about how the Terminator operates is one of the greatest lines in movie history!

Great video. I firmly believe Terminator I is one of the greatest movies ever made. It's just a perfect, complete movie in every sense. T2 is almost certainly in my top ten as well, but T1 is just unbeatable. I like to pretend that anything after T2 doesn't exist. (Even if I do like the Summer Glau terminator)

Thank you so much! I totally agree with everything you said. A lot of people I know like Judgment Day over the first, and I do love it, but the first Terminator does have it all - and I am big on movies that cover almost every genre. Also, everything after 2 can absolutely be considered disconnected, even if I still like a couple of them on their own. 🙂👍

I could not agree more with your review or your taste in movies. The Terminator is the best film ever made ! Sadly it always gets lumped into the same category as , Command / Time Cop / Universal Soldier/ Rambo ! This is sad as they are crap cheesy action films, and The Terminator is so soooo much more! I’m glad that there are a few people out there who can also see this is a well thought out well written and well directed film that was made for peanuts and was supposed to be a cheesy ( almost straight to video) Shylock horror . It was so well done it even had an obligatory 80’s sex scene, that was crucial to the whole plot ! The future scenes of a future war after a nuclear conflict were the most realistic and grimiest depictions of this ( outside of 1984’s Threads ) that I have ever seen ! And to think the whole film was made for $6,000,000! If you adjusted that for inflation, today that film would still come in under $ 20,000,000! Now that is is a film that is true cinema magic! T2 was a worthy sequel , but ( to me ) The Terminator will always be the best film ever made !

Thanks for the compliment, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I absolutely agree with everything you said. T2 was great, but the first will always be my favorite. I feel like if more fans of the franchise went back and rewatched The Terminator today, they'd probably agree with us - but memory can hinder one's judgment (no pun intended), and a lot of folks don't have time to go back and rewatch flicks, so I totally understand. 🙂
