I too appreciate this. I recently aquired a mid 60's Leedy kit.

I have a leedy 1946 snare drum 6 1/2 by 14 with extension snares. I have a 1951 leedy and ludwig 5 by 14 snare drum and a full set of 1951 leedy and ludwig knob tension kit that needs some work. the leedy snare works tuned down I made the mistake of tuning it tight and one of the lugs exploded I could only source a chrome replacement.

Very good & informative episode but, the reference that George Way introduced a drum that became the downfall of the company also happened in the automotive industry. I don't know the year but the Ford Motor company introduced the Studebaker which didn't sell well :(
