Came up with a riff that is 5/4, I'm not really a drummer so I needed some advice on how to program the drums, watched all four 5/4 videos - very helpful so thanks and thumbs up for these!
@nmikloiche7 жыл бұрын
Have Guitar Di you need help with the time signature itself? If so, 5:4 time will get 5 beats per measure where each one beat is a quarter note.

oh yeaaaaah! love that second groove w/ the hihats on the off, makes you move an groove and in a way that feels symmetrically pleasing even in the odd count. and that shuffle is just.... awesome. I'm a major fan of shuffles, so puttin in the 5 is SO great. much appreciated!

This is so awesome I love that you guys put complicated theory stuff on here. I'm not a drummer but I design my own drum beats (I'm a one man rock band) And you guys really help me learn about a lot more groove possibilities.

That songo pattern... tssss!!! I think is very hard! I don't know if people really like latin music, but this music means a great challenge for drum interpretation about independence and grooving.

Great job Dave! The only criticism is there's a basketball type of echo on the bass drum track. That has nothing to do with your performance.

Can I just say I just hate off time signatures like this. I loose my one after just 2 measures bc I just can’t get the feel. I suppose if I was sitting at my drum set and actually playing it I might pick up the groove, but just playing along mentally I loose the one by the 3rd measure. Argh

Hey I want to get into drumming. What kind of set do you recommend me and where should I learn drumming?
@nmikloiche7 жыл бұрын
Sanjefff Don’t buy a drum set. By a practice pad, a pair of sticks, some lessons and learn to play just one drum hella good. You should have a very good grasp on the rudiments bc you will use these a shit ton when you move to a full kit. You should also get thru at least an intermediate snare book which means you should be able to site read the sheet music. I played on practice pads for 2.5 years before I even sat down at a drum kit.
