Nice reaction! Pau was really showing why she is Drumeo's Rock Drummer of the Year!
@paulf46509 ай бұрын
Really enjoyed your reaction! To me, its not just that she's singing while drumming. Its the quality of the vocals and the amazing breath and overall control that she possesses. I'm so happy that she was voted best up and coming drummer by Modern Drummer and best rock drummer by Drumeo. Those awards are more than well deserved. She and her sisters are not only insanely talented, but they constantly strive to improve and are delightful and genuine young people.

Thanks for the reaction man - loved it! Pau is such a talent, you're right - She won Drumeo's "Rock Drummer of the Year 2023", recently, (there's a video of just that category and the nominees etc on YT) and it's well deserved in my humble opinion. Pau takes lead vocals another 3 times I think during this concert, so you're in for a treat! Together, The Warning are such a tight unit when live, the way they keep together, their timing is just so spot on. btw. I'm in the UK, have a friend living opposite who's moved over here a couple of years ago after 20 years in SA. Cape Town mostly and a couple of years in Jo'burg - not music related, but hey! What the heck, just making conversation! lol 👍

It's great the you enjoy the band for what they are. They are all great musicians and singers. But when some musicians react they want every band to play like Polyphia and also have the singer hit Opera, then scream and then rap half way through the song. But the warning know what their strengths are and they use those strengths amazingly. To me their real strength is their Heart. I have been lucky enough to see them live once so far and you know that they just put everything they have out there on stage. In fact Dany actually collapsed at the side of the stage and had to be held up by her team, she drank a load of water and 5 minutes later she came out and played Evolve as an Encore. Great Band. Great people! And a great genuine reaction from you too. Pau has a gear video where she gives a quick look at her kit if you haven't seen it already - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnrSXmh-qcdssKM🤘

They really do give it their all. Love how they put themselves in every song. I have always been a musician myself that thinks you should put on a show that people will never forget because they paid to come see you. I saw that video the other day I think...is it where she talks about her white kit called Marshmallow? I know she calls it that in Spanish which is cute. Beautiful drum kit.

Oh, man, I love her voice, and her it just sounds so smooth you'd never believe she was drumming at the same time. So good. Thanks. Oh, the Plushies are Dr. Simi dolls, it was a short lived rage in Mexico at the time of this concert. He is the mascot of a pharmacy chain and people would buy them and dress them up and throw them on stage. Yes, sounds funny, but at the end of the night they had whole armfuls of them and they were so happy it was bringing them to tears. You'll see them periodically throughout this show.

Great song and great performance by the entire band, but especially by Paulina, singing and playing at the same time. What she does on the drums while she sings may not seem complicated, but it is not simple and doing it well while keeping time as she sings, maintaining the tone and emotion of the voice is a feat that very few can do.

*23* , like many of their songs, is left open to interpretation... some have speculated the title is for the year "2023" while others have thought it references someone's age... i was not sure but have come to see it as being about the year "2023" because that's when Pau turned 21 years old... the lyrics "barely old enough to drink" are fitting in many locales where 21 is the drinking age... in DPA/TW's home area, the drinking age is 18, IIRC... anyway, this is certainly a song about caring deeply for someone from afar, holding back, and then realizing that, in the future, they will meet that someone again... how they will handle their feelings and memories and what may possibly happen... then again, while it sounds personal, maybe this song is about something they might have read or seen in a movie or TV show... after all, their song *Amour* comes from a 15 second clip of a scene in the movie "Ratatouille"... that scene has the camera looking through a hole in the wooden floor... there are two characters down there having a fight... maybe a lover's quarrel? i don't remember... anyway, they are arguing, they suddenly hug each other, and it is done; end clip... there's also their song *Wildfire* which was inspired by _"The Hunger Games"_ movies... i think at least the 2nd one titled "Catching Fire"... DPA/TW have drawn inspiration from a lot of places... IRL, books, movies, games, etc 😹 this song has brought tears to many eyes... while being a powerful drummer, Pau is also a fantastic and very emotive singer... i don't go a day without hearing DPA/TW... they possess both, my heart and soul... TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
