In this video, the guitarist is 16, the bassist is 17, and the drummer is 19, they are just so talented, I recommend《church》live in studio as the next🤘🏻

You're right, who needs a singer when you have three such f'n good played and sounding instruments. :) Losing yourself in this song, I think, is something many of us who know this band, can relate to all too well. These three are damn good at taking you on a journey with their music and forgetting the world around you for the duration of the song. The fact that guitarist Haruka (stage name: Hal-Ca) was only 16 at the time of this recording and supposedly wrote the song herself years earlier (at 12?) keeps blowing my mind. Just like the skill of Miyu on his bass or that Mio on the drums keeps those two at the front from not taking off completely. :) Many will recommend 'Church' (Live In Studio) next, but I'd say go back a bit further and check out their first MV to 'Rising Moon', which also shows at least a bit more of the drummer. _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Asterism just basically put EVERYONE on notice simply by setting the bar so beautifully high. Btw, Cliffs of Dover was by Eric Johnson, who I also hear in her playing along with large helpings of Satriani and Gary Moore.💪🏻🤘🏻

You should check out their song "Church". All 3 shine in that one too. And yes, instrumentalist mostly. Also, another great prog metal instrumental group is D_Drive. Check out their song "Unkind Rain" for a first look at them.

This band is soooo amazing and soooo underrated, bro please chech Gunfire or Church by them, those 2 songs are their best in my opinion

No need for vocals when the guitar is singing like that. And, btw, shut up, Haruka is speaking. Just joking 😉 This band of teenagers is simply from another planet.

Hal Ca was 16 (maybe barely 17) when they recorded this. Eric Johnson!! Here is one you Have to see. Female Japanese drummer *_Junna_* doing a cover of Through the Fire and Flames. Ge Anzalone watched it - and then did a Reaction to it immediately, and said it was the best he'd heard! kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3zVYntqf9tpn9U

ASTERISM are: Haruka "Hal-Ca" Noma on guitar and the Yoshinaka brothers Mio on drums and Miyu on bass. It's a 7 string ESP Miyu custom bass.

Got you on the "Cliffs of Dover" reference. It was written by Eric Johnson and released on his 1990 album "Ah Via Musicom." I used to listen to some Eric Johnson instrumental stuff in the '90s because it's easier to concentrate on work when the music has no lyrics to interfere with that side of the brain. Same reason I listen to Asterism at work lately. Edit: After a second or two of reflection I should mention I'm impressed you pulled this reference out of the air considering you probably weren't born when the album was released. Nice one.

I'm 27, so missed the window by a few years, but I did later find love of that song after hearing it in Guitar Hero. Stuck with me ever since

Sometime they have a vocalist as a guest when they play live in club. That is ESP 7 string bass custom made just for him.

ngl, the song of theirs that has even more of an Eric Johnson feel is _Light in the Darkness_ (at least, the melody ; the rhythm is quite a bit heavier) ; but YMMV

My favorite asterism song, church is the close second. Others are also great but I'm ashamed of myself that I sometimes confuse Hal ca with Satriani.

ASTERISM are amazingly talented young trio. The bassist and drummer are brothers. Try CHURCH, GUNFIRE, and Rising Moon. For some insane drumming and more, SOKONINARU (そこに鳴る) are next level. Try TENOHIRA DE ODORU - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGiwqqJ4oM5src0 I wonder how long it will take for the rest of the world to catch up. Eric Johnson wrote Cliffs of Dover. I hear the connection, too.

You don't need to know why the phrasing is interesting. It just is to you. It's the same reason one person loves a song and another hates the same song. Taste is unexplainable. Just like what you like.
