Greyson is a jazz drummer. You should certainly do the video where Greyson learns Avenged Sevenfold. It's not a video where he makes up the part; he's tasked with learning the original drum part and it's great.

if you want to see Greyson in his wheelhouse then you have to watch his Drumeo performance of Caravan. I’m not a jazz guy either, but that drumming performance is amazing. He covers so many techniques, including switching stick grip multiple times.

He gave this song somewhat of a underground mixed with a jungle sound in my opinion. That double bass for some reason makes me think of the jungle

Jay got released from Slipknot and is now the drummer for Suicidal Tendencies, Greyson left Suicidal Tendencies and is now the drummer for Sepultura and Eloy left Sepultura and is more then likely the drummer for Slipknot.

Compare this to Chad's video and it's completely different, dude LITERALLY just went "I think it's in 3" within the first 10 seconds and just proceeded to play his heart out in one take. Greyson definitely has the skills to turn intention into music, I don't think anybody is doubting that but he still lacks the intuition and confidence that comes with DECADES of sitting in the chair. Still, I have zero doubt that this kid will turn over some of the musical epics of our time. Just give it 20 more years and people will speak about him as a living legend, 10 if he keeps working this hard xD

@@Sampopankki to be fair. The kill from thirty seconds to mars is a hell of a lot easier to the pick up and run with then this. Not saying Chad couldn’t do better, but there is no way you could just drum to this without a single play through to know when the changes come.

Even though he is obviously out of his depth here I LOVE his hand movements. His forearms and wrists really move with a flow of a person that has drummed A LOT. Everyone else says this here but yeah, check out him playing Jazz. He is a BEAST. His version of Caravan is amazing.
