@@erolbulut2584 How foolish of me. Of course keyboards are percussion instruments. Because you hit the keys with various sticks and mallets. Here's the thing: A violinist cannot be considered a drummer but a trumpet player can be considered a guitarist. True fact.

@@Royale_with_Cheeze No. One presses keys that are connected to hammers which strike strings. They reside in the percussion section.

There is no studio version of Inca Roads. The version on One Size Fits All IS the Token performance with a different solo, the solo being from You Can’t Do That On Stage Anymore Volume II.

Dweezil Zappa's 'Zappa Plays Zappa' concert is so worth watching also. Includes amazing performances of More Trouble Every Day, Inca Roads, The Black Page, Florentine Pogen, Zombie Woof... and masses more. Napoleon Murphy Brock's in the band, as well as guest performances from Steve Vai and Terry Bozio.

Rudy Ray Moore (Dolemite) did like a poetry “rap” in his movies. Gil Scott Heron was a precursor to hip hop & rap. “Whitey is on the Moon.”

So good to know that you dig Zappa, some people just don't get him at all. It was always a real experience to see him & band live. Though I would urge you to do the 'studio' version of "Inca Roads" easily one of my top Zappa tracks along with "Slime"

What's to 'get'? It's music. Zappa never wrote a serious lyric in his life. It's all about the music.

The guitar that Frank uses here had effects built into the guitar, that could be activated with switches. And Freak Out was released in 1966.

My FZ 's prefer piece...with the great, young, Chester Thompson on drums...I saw FZ and this band in 1974, in one of his four dates in Italy during that world tour ...unfortunately for me he don't played this wonderful song those night, but I will always remember this concert...

The drummer on this song is Chester Thompson, who eventually went on to play for Genesis (post Peter Gabriel). When he first joined that band, in a discussion with other Zappa drummers, he said that Phil Collins wanted to know how he played the drum riff from this song. Then he said he tried to show him, but Phil just couldn't get it right...🤣

The first time I saw Zappa, we were lucky enough to sit within the first 10 rows. His guitarist that tour, can't remember his name, but it was probably late 75 or 76, the guy wore a teeny tine bikini bottom. And it looked like he was completely naked behind his guitar. What an incredible show that was. His son, Dweezil came and hung out with me a few times in the late 80s at two of the radio stations I worked for. Such a sweetheart. Far more serious than his dad.

Worse than the Televangelists that Frank railed against in the 80s, Trump couldn't quote a verse from the Bible. I expect that Jim, Pat and the rest at least knew what they were reading.

frankly... i prefer this "more" version. on my list of songs to play for people to get them into zappa. such a rockin' song. the punch of the horns. (he inserted a little "dragnet" reference in there. that shows up in lots of places: more conceptual continuity.)
