This castle was built by my 15th great-grandfather Laird John/Knight Drummond in 1490. Mary Queen of Scots lived with them in 1566-67. Sir Malcolm Drummond distinguished himself at the Battle of Brannockburn in 1314 and was given the lands. It was called Comraig. Would be great to visit as the castle is still occupied by Drummonds and I could meet them.

Gang warily, indeed! Glad to see such a well shot video of the Drummond castle gardens. It's always struck me as such a wondrous thing to have a place in this world to connect all of us Drummonds to our ancestors. To know where our kin were from is almost as great a thing as to see how wide our family tree has spread. Long live the Drummonds!

Marvellous drone footage of this spectacular garden. But it misses one thing (as do the other videos here) which could only be achieved using a steady-cam with the operator walking through the gates. There is a brilliant theatrical effect. Until you have passed the gate, you have no inkling of what you are about to see. Finding yourself suddenly on the high terrace with the garden laid out below you is a real shock, and a very dramatic experience. People gasp in pleasure! The drone flying up and over the castle is not as dramatic as the experience on foot, although the rest of the footage is excellent, and a very good use of the technology.
