Drummond Submersible Utility Pump

Will last for two years when used to drain rainwater out of empty swimming pool in Central Fl. I have gone through many of it's predecessors over the last twenty years. Works fine for the price, just upgraded today with a Drummond 1/2 hp for a few dollars more. Just drained overflowing pool from rainwater down to middle of skimmer in twelve minutes. If you upgrade to 1/2 hp, don't forget to get the additional hose required 1 1/2 OD - 1 1/4 ID at the same time you buy the pump to AVOID making an additional trip to Harbor Freight to purchase one.

Just so everyone knows. The power cord is submersible. (He stated it had to be out of the water but no you can use this in a full pool) also it will pump down to 1/4 inch of water.

I have very similar pump that's 1/2hp. Once all the water has been pumped out. The Drummond continues to run. Do you know anything about replacing or adjusting the water level switch?

I use a pond pump. Harbor freight has some for $30-50

When the water falls below that 1" level, will it stop? Your review did not cover that. That means someone has to watch it and not go inside the house.

No this device doesn't stop and it will burn the motor out if it is not monitored.

You must unplug as stated in comment. Do not run dry. It will suck down to 1/4 inch of water.

Yes, but the pump can't take in air or it will overheat

Thanks. So as long as the pump is not completely submerged it will pump the water up a hose that is going up one level out of the basement?

No, this will not work well for this it's only to pump water from one place to another

​@Upgradetech this is the exact info I needed! We have a new pool and none of the attachment from our old one will hook up to this one. Plus every yr, I shop vac the remaining water out. That's rough on the back

According to the manual troubleshooting guide it says pump starts and stops too frequently some of the problems could be water temperature too high and backflow of water from discharge hose so that means water could be running back down the hose and back to the pump causing it to cut off mine does the same thing

My Little Giant 1/2 HP sewage pump failed less than 2 years, and Franklin Electric does not want to replace it. This kind of Company should disappear in America.

Sorry this video is a total fail and can't believe Harbor Freight has it as demonstration video for product. All scenes show something wrong or an issue occuring with pump and end footage shows just a straight up garden hose with water flowing out as if connected to water valve and no proof showing that water flow is coming from water pump....

I just tested my brand new Drummond 63318 1/3 HP utility submersible pump as seen in this video. The results are horrible. It pumps, with a 4 foot head lift, 1 gallon every 10.46 seconds. This may sound great at first, but to evacuate 2000 gallons it will take 5.81 hours. The propaganda states 2000 gallons max flow per hour. So add on my 4 foot head lift and I should be pumping 1800 GPH, per the propaganda. The results are 5.23 hours to pump 1800 gallons. Watch the videos hose end and you will se the water is hardly rushing out of that hose. Mine looks the same. My above ground Drummond 1500 GPH pump runs circles around this dismal pump.

Did you have 1/3 hp or 1/6 hp pump? 1/6 says it does roughly 1600 gph. 1/3 hp roughly 2000. Not trying to nit pick, just wondering.
