I love the drum playthrough of Copycat. But lately I've been listening to Pausing Death, and Noah. Such great riffs, in service of such great songs.

Yess!!!! RE: the muffled tom sound you mentioned. What you are hearing in this video is pretty much Vlad's live sound. Last time I saw them in September 2013 in a 400 person room, this sound is mostly spot on. His levels were loud....the drums were prominent in the crowd, but there is not a ton of open resonance in his tom sounds. Vlad is one of the busiest drummers I have seen in rock....he plays damn near every note at times. But with higher pitched, dry drums and drier and darker Zildjian K series cymbals, all of those notes support the music....if the drums resonated a lot and/or the cymbals were brighter and "on top" of the music, all those notes on the kit would get in the way of the music. There is no frequency muddling with the other instruments....one reason they sound incredibly tight live. Vlad being able to do all of this is a key reason Jinjer sounds so big for a 4 person band. Vlad's tonal choices are perfect for Jinjer and his playing style. That is a piccolo snare (10") on his right side. Bubinga wood he added recently. I know a lot of metalheads want a beefier snare sound from Vlad, but I fucking love it. The ghost notes are crisp and that tone cuts through the music. Listening to Stuart Copeland as a kid probably primed me for a preference towards a cranked snare and then seeing John Stainer live, playing that cranked snare with the kevlar head, when he drummed for Helmet in the early 1990s sealed the deal. Love it cranked. I was waiting for you and Andrew Rooney to react to this video. Thanks for another insightful and good reaction. ❤ 🥁

That's good info about his live sound out in the audience. Thx for that! Also the wood type on the snare is good to know. Someday, I'll see them in person

Has someone already suggest Tony to react to Puzzle Dust from Cojum Dip? that drums/bongos solo sent me to Trigun´s Opening 🔥🔥

I wouldn't be surprised if you've already been asked for this, but Persona 3 Reload just came out and has some great new renditions of the music of the original game that I would love to hear you analyze! "Mass Destruction" being probably the most iconic track. I know its not super related to the topic of this video, but i thought you might be interested.

You should react to the Ninja Kamui OP. The show itself is good and then they ended the first episode with a banger song which will be the OP. The song is called Vengeance by Coldrain I'm pretty sure.

Would you mind to try reviewing Lamp's music from their albums such as Poetry of August and Tokyo Utopia Tsushin? They're a shibuya kei, Japanese indie band which got their influence from 60s-70s music, and they almost always have dense and clever instrumentations in their songs. Really appreciate if you're interested in reacting to theirs, I want to know what's ur opinion

dude, GO... they play small venues... i've seen them 4 times i think (2 doubles).... there weren't any pits at any of the shows as the venues are generally just slightly larger than a bar... you get pretty intimate shows, maybe couple hundred people and they sound VERY professional, no missed beats or notes (except for maybe the singer)
