Hoyo's made fire music for all their games, but ZZZ hits diff somehow, they even have a music player ingame that allows you to go to any specific moment in any of these song, which is a nice touch they didn't have to add, but makes the experience that much better.

Yo to add some context: * Some of the songs represent the factions, and thus drives the design, e.g.first song is for a military faction > "orderly", second song is for a construction company > "industrial" * Some songs will have "day" and "night" versions depending on the in-game time

I loved your viewpoint on how electronic music producers put in quite a bit of work into some of their works. I produce electronic music as well, and I am also a classically trained artist in fine art and commercial art. If I were to hazard an analog, I would say producing electronic music is akin to oil painting. You blend in layers, you add in details. With some techniques, you apply them to the surface, only to have those strokes brushed over. The cumulative additions come together to make a cohesive piece made from the tiniest details. When the viewer sees the bigger piece, they get drawn closer... only to be captivated by the finer details hiding in plain sight. Their eye moves throughout the piece as a listener would hear different sounds, fx and audio treatments when actively listening.

I love the ZZZ soundtrack, and it covers a lot of genres. There's death metal (Caesar Demo), rock ballad (Jane Teaser), Polyphia-inspired lo-fi (Ellen EP), Canto/CN-pop plus Beijing Opera (QingYi MV), Flamenco (Lycaon Demo), the OG Ballet Twins boss theme is Romantic era cello and piano. All of these and more are definitely worth a listen to. They even commissioned LofiGirl to remix and animate a lo-fi playlist of the pre-release demo and trailer songs (available on the ZZZ KZbin channel).

That transition in endless construction day is one of my favorites. The actual song is a bit longer where that first segment is extended more as thats the "exploration" segment of the song. When you go into battle is when it transitions into the beat drop and its so sasisfying to just get down to fighting after it. You mention how it's a great beat to practice to, and in the same way the sounds of battle really lend itself towards the music. If you ever do wanna revisit this games music, highly recomend "Dance of Death". It's Classical music with a DnB mix

This is pretty cool to see. Def recommend checking out more stuff from ZZZ, Like the song Come Alive, the rest of the songs in this mix, or some of the newer songs from the games latest Character Demos and Teasers like Ceaser, Ellen, etc. I will say some of the songs in this are not the original versions but were remixed for a dj set, notably Meow, When Business Comes Knocking, Its Showtime, etc. Also most characters have a demo or teaser video for them, often the demos including the songs made specifcally for them, such as Billy Kid with the orignal Its Showtime, Nicole Demara with the original When Business Comes Knocking, Nekomata with Meow, etc.

This game is an eclectic person's wet dream, it goes hard on EDM, it has girly progressive rock on one character's demo/EP, it has Chinese opera in the other character, it has 2000's rock in the song "Come Alive", it has some groovy stuff in the songs 19%, 39%, 50% fantasy, 50% daily, 79% and 99%; Theres a character demo with some "Korean romance OST like" vibe. It has a little bit of everyhing.

The first section plays during a 2d exploration mode and the second section plays during the 3d arena combat segments. Each song is handled differently, but they were all written with this in mind. This song in particular is the second mission soundtrack you hear in-game, because the story is that your team is in the Hollow well into the night.
