One thing about this song is that this and the album was recorded with a live orchestra. Pretty sure on their TRAX podcast, they specifically put a mic deep in the bells of some of the brass to emulate the synthy hip-hop brass sound with a real instrument.

@@DrumRollTonyReacts Yea Matt even spoke to Finn McKenty recently about this. None of this is synthy or processed. The drums are natural drums with a recorded hi-hat roll overlaid. The brass was as stated recorded with the mic shoved all the way into the tube.

The Stage By A7X. Its the Title track from their 2016 Album, it is progressive and a complete U-TURN for the band stylistically. It is also a technical masterpiece in lead guitar and drums in my opinion.

The Stage is not a bad react to. It gives some context to where the band was headed at the time. Stepping out of the shell of “metal band” and still paying homage to their roots as musicians through some of this new “progressive” writing. The new album “Life is But a dream” drops sometime in June. And as someone who’s been a longtime avenged fan…I’m STOKED.

The stage took a few listens but the more I grew as a musician and as someone who appreciates philosophy and cosmology the stage has become my favorite album of theirs, and I've been a fan since city of evil. Super stoked about the creative direction they're taking. And even as an objective metal fan...holy shit it's nice to hear something that isn't copy and past from every other band. I mean, I enjoy trivium, disturbed, even u derground stuff but it's hard to find bands that don't have another band that sounds very similar.

Do Exist from the Stage album! It literally narrates the story of our universe with music. Its mind blowing and even Neil Degrass Tyson collaborated with them and has a part in this masterpiece. From their old ones I strongly recommend Chapter Four. Best of its album. And if you want to listen to their 'bohemian rhapsody" watch A little piece of heaven live from the LBC. Top notch!

What I never expected is that this song is actually based off of a psychedelic experience according to what I researched. Specifically DMT, I would've never guessed that coming from this band. That said, A7X does have a lot of experimental songs out there. Unlike most bands they're not afraid to experiment with new sounds.
