It often feels conflicting, as my character is an Orog that aligns with Dwarves. They were raised among dwarves as an orphan of the Deep, but can still sympathize with the concept of a horde. They wouldn't fight against the dwarves... But the drums do call out to a young, gray-skinned Underdark tusker. They feel the drums in their bones.

@@addaskhasawneh8174 I had completely forgotten I posted this comment, thank you :) It went well and terrifying for them. Orc shaman led a group of 8 armored Orogs, a warchanter, and about 20ish 2-3HD orc grunts. I was introducing a new character that was a paladin, had the character on a patrol with a couple other mounted npc knights, having gotten word of an orc squad nearby they were sent to investigate and deal with it, they were ambushed by more than was reported. It was the grunts first but about 10 of them, the shaman had laid down the 'consumptive field' spell so each one they killed he got stronger. The first wave was taken down but the npc's were likewise plugged (bad dice rolls for them, I tried). As the party heard the commotion they came to the paladin's aid, once the initial wave was dealt with they were mid social rp when I started this video and turned it up, the players looked at me and gave me a unanimous "oh shit" and I told them "you hear this echoing from the trees", they saw what came marching out, the rest of the grunts charged them and the party was able to mow most of them down in the first couple rounds, but when the Orogs splashed in they got scattered, all the while that field spell was still going. A couple of the party memebers went to find the war drums and found the shaman and the drummer, in that moment the shaman took his new stats and hit points and wild shaped into a Battle Briar, and began punishing the paladin for ever being born. The 2 duskblades and paladin found themselves in a hell of a struggle while the rogue/assassin and sorcerer were left with at least 4 Orogs which by the luck of the dice gods they didn't die... sorcerer was down to single digits though. The duskblades are flying characters, they came up with the idea to use an npc that could fly that was traveling with them to come lift the shifted shaman off the ground and deadfall him, use his new weight against him. They actually made 3 rounds of strength rolls to pull this off and right when they dropped him, just before hitting the ground he shifted back into his Orc form and fell prone where the sword wielding paladin was waiting, coup de gras. They were quick to find the warchanter and take him down before he did much damage, a few Orogs fell and the rest scattered with a failed morale check once the drums stopped and the leader was dead. Everyone got hit pretty hard with 2 near losses.

@@addaskhasawneh8174 It is indeed, we are about 3 sessions away from finishing, there's 1 final fight to be had that's being staged by the antagonist to ambush the PCs which they are wary might happen but they don't know when or where, then some wrap up role play with a couple loose ends to tie off and it should be done :)

Funny how in most campaigns lizardfolk are perceived as cruel, chaotic evil and brutal beings lol. I personally homebrewed them to be in a swamp village living in full communion with nature, worshipping a nature deity. Lawful neutral.
