At 7:40 I see that Auto Align automatically flipped the phase toggle on the bottom snare instance. I love this plug in !!

Since phase alignment with my drum kit, using 12 mics, is a constant nightmare, I want to thank you for this video. I will look and adding to my DAW. I don't use plugins so this would be my first one. And since I am not good with the concept I would expect many hours of frustrtation. But since the phase problems take many hours of frustration I might as well try it. Thank you.

Any processing on the way in with these tracks when originally recorded? They sound EQed and a slightly compressed.

There is no need to use multiple channels. Use 1 channel only and adjust the received input and side chain noise floor to detect only the snare on every track/instance. This will free us Auto Align channels 2-9 for bass and guitar (multi-mic), etc., using the direct box signal of each. Otherwise good video. :-)

Great video thanks. Would you suggest to align as a first step and then commit or render the tracks - then start using EQ, etc - or just put this at the end of the chain and keep all inserts active throughout the mix? Just curious if this is a resource hog or not. I just picked up the plug-in today and haven’t had time to play yet. Thanks for the vid
@HomeRecordingMadeEasy3 жыл бұрын
You could do that but the plugin is not a CPU hog at all so I dont feel the need to do it

Is there an easy way to PRINT the phase correct signal so you can remove plug ins to free up CPU?
@HomeRecordingMadeEasy2 жыл бұрын
They are not CPU heavy at all so I would not worry about that

Is there any difference if we align the Left AND Righ Overheads to the Top Snare and not the Right OH to the Left OH?Or is it the same because the Left OH is already aligned to the Snare top?Thank you.

Should be the same. I am just used to the workflow I laid out but I would say try it. Thanks for watching www.mixingmadeeasy.net

Great video, thank you. I've been using auto align for a couple months this really help using the plug in much better. I just have one question. Should I use auto align before or after I edit drums. For example using elastic tool on pro tools or studio ones version of that.

Use it after you edit...Thanks for watching!

Is it necessary to flip the polarity switch on the input of say the bottom snare mic or my kick out mic (Yamaha sub kick) in addition to the plugin

no, not necessary

Hello, Would this plugin work using sounds from Superior Drummer 3 and EzDrummer? I mean, does it only work with live-recorded drums or can it also align several snare samples from different libraries? Thank you
@HomeRecordingMadeEasy3 жыл бұрын
Typically, when using software drums the phase is not an issue. Having said that I check it using AutoAlign
@giorgiosale6393 жыл бұрын
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Sorry, I've another question about phase. I've been using Auto-Align for one week. But I have a question. I'm editing and equalizing my drums track by track because I need to freeze my tracks due to CPU powerless. I should put Auto Align as first plugin and after that equalize but doing so I would reintroduce phase issues, right?. For me it has more sense put it after all the track editing (eq,comp,etc). What do you think?
@poyrazaldemir64013 жыл бұрын
Great video, thank you so much for all the details. I just have one question: I've been using Auto Align for a few years and what I do is I use the Left Overhead channel as "Send 1" and everything else as "Recv 1" without aligning the top and bottom snare to each other or without aligning kick in and out to each other. What would be the difference between those two approaches? Thank you
@HomeRecordingMadeEasy3 жыл бұрын
You can do what you are suggesting. Try it and use your ears to see if there is a difference.

@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy one question: when i used the Input Fader on the sending instance already, why do i need to recalibrate it in the receiving Unit again with the side chain Fader? I do not understand? Or is it the original signal then again? Independent from the send instance? Best regards
