The fact the color matches a acoustic kit makes this extra appealing. You can buy the acoustic bass and put a trigger on it to make the kit look bigger. I think a Yamaha was smart to do this.

I tried the dtx8-x out today, it feels amazing to play and the sounds are much better in person (So are Roland's to be honest) Pro's: - TSC pads were a joy to play! - Sounds (machine gunning isn't obvious when playing compared to video) - Triggering was fantastic accross the pads and cymbals - Positional sensing on snare and ride - Kick tower feels very satisfying - Feels very well built - 3 zone cymbals were nice Cons: - Same price as Dtx10-m in UK - Module latency is a bit higher than Roland which isn’t an issue unless you decide to use a VST, it's not perceivable unlike Alesis Strike but it's there. - No digital pads, I miss my digital snare crosstick and nuance. Overall, it is a fantastic kit. The mesh version was a bit bouncy for my liking but it's significantly cheaper, perhaps Drum-Tec Real Feel heads would be sufficient. It is a serious contender for my next kit along with Td27kv2, and Efnote 3x. Overall score? 8/10 Kits I've owned: Alesis Strike: 5/10 Td9: 5/10 TD50KV: 10/10 Reference point Kits I've played: Td17kvx: 6.5/10 Td25kv: 7/10 Dtx10-m: 8/10 (mesh version)

I noticed you hit the button on the module before playing the cross-stick sound. If you don’t push that button, is the default rim sound a rim shot? I’ve heard this model struggles distinguishing between rim click and shot. Then again, so does my current Roland TD-9 (I had to mess with the sensitivity and the threshold where the rim click MIDI note changes to the rim shot MIDI note).

@drumtecTV
@drumtecTV 2 жыл бұрын
All three kits are nice, yet very different. Best would be to test all of them side by side at a musicstore that has them all available (might be tough though, especially EFNOTE I guess). It also depends on what features/sounds you'll need in the first place / what kind of musical styles you'll mainly be playing. EFNOTE module has just a bunch of kits, that all sound very natural/unprocessed and kind of vintage/oldschoolish. They're nice for jazz/funk/blues/vintage pop rock). Yamaha has a lot more processed and also FX sounds, the Roland TD-17 might be the most flexible with a lot of drum/percussion & FX sounds. (You'll find comprehensive sound demos of all modules/kits on our channel btw) Still, all of the kits' pad setups feel completely different physically speaking, so it's really tough to give a non-subjective advice on this. And then, there's even more options :) as you can get any compatible custom kit configuration from drum-tec (all drum-tec, Roland, ATV & EFNOTE pads are 100% compatible, only EFNOTE hihat isn't). Feel free to get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance and/or an individual quote including international shipping anytime. Kind regards!

Most natural sounding, better than Roland, and not by a small margin. I'm switching to Yamaha now.

The cymbals sound better than the Roland(non-digital).. maybe because of there 3 zones. I need to buy a Yamaha hi-hat to confirm.

@@ShadowXMewtwo tragically I ordered the drum kit late november in france, The website said it was out of stock but they would send it when it was in stock. They never sent it so I ended up getting a refund. I am probably going to order a different drum kit...

Both kits are nice, but very different. Best would be to try them out side by side to see which playing feel you prefer. You might also throw in the drum-tec Jam NG series as another option, which is compatible with Yamaha DTX PRO and Roland TD-17 module: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5SrYomXfbOCrNU kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX7WeWdnetmbedE You might get in touch through service@drum-tec.de for further info and/or an individual quote on any custom kit configuration incl. international shipping if you like.
