I made it 25 days, before I relapsed last night. Sick as hell today. I feel gross. It was not worth it. I don't want to lose my wife and family. Nearest AA meetings are almost 50 miles away, so making it to one is nigh impossible. So I listen to these. Day 1. Again. I'll get there. Edit: Day 2.

That was the most amazing thing I have ever heard I have never laughed so hard in my life and I am going to share this with many of my friends and family because we’re all Mexicans and we like the Budweiser‘s. Keep doing what you’re doing Mr. Danny Trejo you are an inspiration and a beautiful handsome man !!Keep up the good work!

Mary you hang in there. I kicked oxycodone after a crippling 6 year addiction that led to me losing my twin sons. I haven't used since Dec. 20, 2019 and I'll never go back. I try not to think about all the money I spent, the bad decisions I made, and try to concentrate on the future. I love my sons and I'm on the way to winning custody. Danny Trejo has changed his lifestyle, and has ultimately become a absolute credit to society. I'm very proud of the way he made a commitment to himself, to stay clean, crime free, and out of jail. So many can't turn that corner away from a life of crime, and wind up addicted, crippled, imprisoned, or murdered.

I learned I had a serious alcohol problem when my ex boyfriend took me to Syria to stop drinking because he thought I couldn't find any alcohol over there and I got my hands on some Syrian moonshine and the police came and I was dancing with his guard dog, a Belgian Malinois and howling at the moon. I did overcome drinking and now my life is better. AAA did not work for me unfortunately their philosophy did not Vibe with me. I feel like I do have control over alcohol and to this day I can actually have one or two beers and put them down and go on about my business. Life is so much better when a person does not have to rely on substances to get them through the day I applaud anyone who wants to take control of their life

Sober James Thanks I’ll do my best to catch it. Thanks for taking an interest in my comment. I’m almost fifty and been drinking since my teens. I’ve been in and out of AA rooms over many years. Some were court ordered and some were to try to make things better in my relationship. I don’t think I’ve ever been there for my self. I’ve told my wife many times that I can be in a room full of people and feel alone. I need to figure this out and get better! Sorry for my rambling.. Thanks again!

I got 21 years 30 days ago. This past year was the hardest in a decade and a half of that. Covid flipped our NA service structure upside down and scattered dedicated people to the wind...... The few of us that stuck it out (like a core group of 4 recovering addicts) picked up a lot of extra work for the past three years as we came out of the pandemic. There's been plenty of hard feelings and blame passed around and loss and shit..... Egos clashed..... I had like 5 positions I had to do for one service committee meeting.... But I'm still here.... I had to buy my own medallion this year and I told everyone to Eff off, I bought this myself and then passed it around. They put good juju on it anyhow. :) I don't ever want a year as difficult as this past one has been.

Deborah Meyer Thank you for these speaker meetings. They're awesome. I will have 6 years in August, but if I want to continue to keep that time I have to continue how I began. One day at a time, work with my sponsor, go to meetings, I like to go to two a day, and keep reading the Big Book and other literature and work with others to remind me where I came from or I have a great possibility of relapsing and returning to that horrible place I came from. I NEVER want to ever relive that time in fact I probably wouldn't make it. These speakers are the same as me, but we can learn something new every day. Thank you❤🙏🤲✌

I think this little series you are putting together is great. Its one thing to hear sobriety talk from average joes but to hear it from celebrities and known individuals has a little more reach. Some people think "oh those people do not have problems" but in some ways their problems are worse than the common persons because you can confuse success with not having a problem and then it makes the admission all the more difficult. See if you can throw one together on Robert Downey. I have probably seen all the material there is to have seen on him personally but I really respect him and some clips of some of his interviews, especially over the last decade since the iron man era started, are really heart felt going back to his struggles in the 90s. Keep Moving Forward Brother.

Thanks brother! RDJ is high one my respect list a well, I'll brainstorm. His story is so inspiring, mainly because I relate to the chaos that he got into when he used. It's like, the crazy has no ceiling when I use and drink, and he was the same. Now he's a respectable, contributing member of society and CULTURE. Love it, thanks for commenting🙏
