jackie's mom in this was Anita Mui. She was a really huge star in hong kong as a recording artist, not just as an actress, she died really young at 40 years old in 2003

I saw Jackie Chans Drunken Master II on the big screen in Berkeley, Ca at the UC theater on university ave back in the early 90's. Back then nobody knew who Jackie Chan was. I did. I watched his mid 80's kung fu flicks. Soo good!!

The fact that these techniques are actually accurate to the 8 original styles known is amazing, from Lu Dongbin to Miss He Xiangu mentioning Zhang Guolao at 3:15 for example, "the donkey rider" with the double-foot-kicks! Unlike other martial art actors, these are correct and difficult to learn.

Very much appreciated! So, except for Gualao, he performs the moves first and then names which immortal that was. I always thought that 4:30 was Zhongli since it had nothing to do w/ throat or joint locks, and it looked like his arms are in the shape of a keg. I also assumed that 3:28 was Tieguai, especially since I saw no attack to the waist. Unless if you count 3:35, which seems to step into the Xiangzi part of the choreography.

At the factory showdown, Jackie combined the boy and the cripple. It looks like the same person. Cao Guojiu attacks from the neck up. It's not just a choke hold. Because he's taller. He is an aristocratic man with a melancholy temperament.

I still have the Cantonese w/ English subtitle VHS of Drunken Master 2. It’s one of my most cherished items. Legend of the Drunken Master was a trash English dubbed film that I despise.

I've always preferred watching foreign movies that have English subtitles in them than being dubbed in English, it's always best to hear the original language because for me it make the movie more "real" if you can see where I'm coming from, English dubbing puts me off watching it

There is a great difference between the first movie and the sequel, the sequel was made by the new style created by Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung in Project A, with a more fast style of fighting, and the fights appear less than a dance.

I think Jackie knew he was to old play Wong Fei Hung in this movie but I think he did it anyway due to the fact that his fans were waiting for years for an continuation to the Drunken Master storyline that he started back in 1978. And knowing his sense of humor would do this, him bring in both Anita Mui and Lung Ti to play both the mother and the father was him most likely him being cheeky to the moviegoers.
