His analysis of the creation of men is on point. That’s why I love stories of reverts. We born-Muslims (!) can learn so much from their stories. Adding to that; sometimes Allah put His servants into suffering to wipe out their sins (if they keep their patience and remembering Allah) so that they can get straight into Jannah without hisab. And sometimes Allah put disbelievers in such a "good" place on earth so that Later they couldn't ask for more reward for some of their good actions because Allah already reward them on this earth. I have heard this speech a long long time ago, perhaps several years ago, and I was very impressed in how he analysed and answered the most important question every human has been asking since the beginning, well except maybe for Adam and Hawa, because even other prophets may have had similar thoughts before it was revealed to them the answers. Obviously I was born and raised a Muslim, so Allah has made easier for me to understand certain things from my upbringing and from learning of course, but even then I remember being very impressed with his ability to explain. Orientalist is a person who studies the languages and cultures of East and Southeast Asia. but practically they were mostly Western people who study the East, basically Muslims and Islam, and a lot of them were doing that for colonial purposes with very biased views against Islam.

I really wish Dr. Jeffrey Lang is living a peaceful life right now. I wish he returns with his great lectures, or with the podcasts, or he makes KZbin video himself. His work is tremendous. I was born in islamic culture, but as a post soviet country, my parents used to be atheists, so islam was more of a culture, rather than religion. First time, I started thinking about islam is when I came to Texas as an exhange student. I lived with a very nice host family who were Jehovah's witnesses. I have learnt a lot about their religion, and one of the conditions were that if I convert to Christianity, they would support me to stay in the US and enjoy all the benefits of living in this country. Back then I was very young (16 years old), but my choice was not to convert. I said:"I really respect you and appreciate everything you do. I enjoy learning about your religion, but I cannot change my religion before I learn about islam". They respectfully accepted my decision,so I returned to Central Asia. After many attempts to return to islam, after many struggles and depression, after 12 years I just started reading the Quran. Such lectures, especially from those who reverted, help to look at the Quran from different angles. Lectures from Dr. Lang has helped me tremendously and stilll does.
