I was such a huge Conan the Barbarian fan when I was a kid in the 80s this game was the closest thing to being Conan as you could get.One of the coolest soundtracks ever made for a video game too.the arcade and spacie parlours were like a shrine for kids growing up.we would walk 2 hours to the city to play one game and then walk home.kids these days don't even know what it's like to have to wait in line just to play your favorite game.everyones coins lined up on the screen waiting for their turn,hoping the guy in front of you doesn't play like a beast.good days and great memories.

I remember as a kid going on holiday with my parents, the holiday park we were staying had a 'play room' for the kids which had a few arcade cabinets. I cant remember the others but I remember Rastan fondly. For that week I became obsessed with wanting to go and play it. Constantly asking if I could go to the room to play it and pestering my dad for change. I remember how loud and exciting it was. One of the older kids beat round 1 once with me and some of the other kids gathered round in complete awe lol. I miss the old days of arcades. Where it was always a privilege, an event to actually get to play a machine, usually you'd just stare at them for ages watching the attract mode go round and round asking your parents for change, only to be told no time and time again lol.

when I was a kid, I LOVED playing this in arcades. I was soooo praying we would get toys so I could finally have a "Conan" toy and monsters from this game. Especially the Teal-green colored gargoyle. I wanted his Green colored sword the most cause it was so cool not being metal colored but Teal colored. Too bad after you beat it, you couldn't start over as your choice of the Adventurer or normal version of Rastan or the King, old version that's sitting in the throne in the story at the beginning. Playing as King after would be awesome as a reward for beating the game.

Their is a certain charm that every Taito game has. Even though some of their games lack the finesse in crisp graphics and detailed sprites that Konami, Sega and Capcom had, they sure made up for it with well balanced games. That will all changed when they made the 32 bit F3 system to compete with the Capcom's CP System and Snk's Neo Geo.

If you played the arcade version (not the home computer ports) most TAITO boards had a DIL switch where you could set the level of difficulty. The owner of our arcade always chose middle and later when people got over the first few levels he increased it to high
@BMoser-bv6kn8 жыл бұрын
Rastan has glitchy as hell damage algorithims. If you swing your weapon while in the air, you do four to five times as much damage. Note the battle where he dies against the Hydra over and over and then kills it in a 10 second random ass pull in the end. You can confirm this easily on the first boss by jumping and attacking in the air. Balanced, Rastan is not.

Get a PS2, Xbox or PSP and you can play it arcade perfect. PS2 and Xbox have Rastan on the Taito Legends package, and PSP has Rastan Saga on Taito Legends Powered Up.
