I had issues with Starlight being able to fight against an alicorn. Not only an alicorn, but an alicorn whose special talent is magic and who studies magic for a living. The last time we saw Starlight, she was shocked that Twilight easily blocked a spell she had studied for years. After seeing that, and knowing what we know about Twilight, it's asking alot to have me watch Starlight completely confuse Twilight with new spells just because she's been gone for a few months.

+yurichan99x13 Think about it: without the Mane6 to wield the Elements of Harmony, Nightmare Moon banished Celestia to the moon upon her return. Then Discord got loose and toyed with NMM a bit before getting bored. He turned her back into Luna, brought Celestia back, and turned them both into clowns. Then he got bored again and wandered off. Without the Royal Sisters Chrysalis takes Canterlot much more easily, leaving Ponyville and the Everfree as some of the last hold-outs. But ultimately Zecora's resistance is victorious. Before Equestria can fully recover, however, Sombra and the Crystal Empire return. By this time Celestia has gotten free of Discord's control and she organizes a defense. Despite this, Sombra takes about half of Equestria, and everypony has to keep contributing so he can't take the other half. Even with Luna recovered, they can't spare the time to search for the Elements of Harmony, the Crystal Heart, or Cadence without further help. Which is where Discord decides to lend a paw / claw / talon / hoof. This could go either way, but it reconciles all the timelines we've been shown.

This was a great way to end season 5 of mlp. Starlight was a really entertaining and decisive villain, with a somewhat-lacking reason to her actions in her backstory, but her mastery to magic is unparalleled by her craftiness. The Alternate Universes of Equestria was AWWWESOMMMME, and Sombra's future was the best one....................just..............WOOO!!!!!!!!!! I'm not so ready to let Starlight be a part of the M6, and I think that she should do some sort of time for what she did overall. Just being forgiven like that really irks me a little, and overall, I too can't wait for what S6 of MLP:FIM has in store for us!!!!

I like to think in this episode that the backstory for Starlight, the reasons she ended up creating the village, were sort of rooted in deeper meaning and just not available to be picked up by just scratching the surface. That is what I think caused a problem for many people who viewed this episode. There were these subtle plot hints that were hidden in the flashback that one would need to find and take in consideration in order to realize how much of an effect the event could have had on Starlight, such as how she and Sunburst look very duo-like in color-scheme, cutie mark, or just the central theme behind those elements. It's like they were another version of Celestia and Luna. With this, it might have contributed more to how big of a feeling of loss that Starlight had. She wasn't just losing a friend. She was losing _her_ friend. She was losing _the_ friend.
@sonicgen209 жыл бұрын
I really hope Starlight is added as a main character in season 6. New character with lots of backstory to be explored, new character dynamics to be created, and perhaps new lessons that can only be taught through Starlight. So many possibilities! As for all the plotholes concerning time travel well I could spend all day talking about how it doesn't follow the rules of time travel or the inconsistances of Spike not vanishing from existance or Nightmare Moon somehow being reverted to Luna without the elements of harmony but I guess that just something that comes with most time travel stories. But besides all that stuff dealing with nerding out about how time travel works otherwise I really enjoyed this episode, I'm also really surprised that Josh Habor wrote these episodes, you know, the safe writer from season 4, he's definitely improved alot since then.

The real highlight of this episode *IS* the alt timelines. More Zecora and Celestia? Loved it! The downside is the ending. Starlight STILL committed brainwashing and possible kidnappings and should server hard time for it. Her redemption is too quick and does not resolver her of her heinous crimes. A few decades of moontime banishment will teach her good or she can join Terik in pony hell minus her horn. I really hate her, can you tell?
@miniman6499 жыл бұрын
+Tristan Milner I think that may be a bit harsh, considering Luna also nearly laid ruin to Equestria two times without punishment for her actions (return as Nightmare Moon and Tantabus). Just saying, we could punish a lot of ponies for their actions if we start now.

I have several neighbors with kids who are always talking about Derpy and such. I enjoyed this finale, especially seeing all the alternate timelines with fan favourite villains return including Chrysalis and Tirek and seeing the real reason behind Starlight's schemes in this episode and the Cutie Map because she had a fear of losing a friend after they had gained their cutie marks and Twilight taught her that she can make friends as her friendship with the Mane 6 is strong because of their differences. And Starlight being a new friend of the Mane 6 and being Twilight's new apprentice is a great concept and I can't wait too see what happens next. Bravo Josh Haber! 10/10 I give this finale. And season 5 is by far my favourite season with season 4 at a close second ^^

@taddad26419 жыл бұрын
+SharkDiscusses ...... actually that is not implied in the slightest. its clear the xperiences cause acutie mark to pop up and be shaped. also you have ot take into account that the timelines often discluded the primary entity who would have remained if the mane six were not there; nightmare moon. also take into account Zecora's comment about how they are not supposed to be there. It seems that twilight kept on going into mangled timelines, those who exist yet not logically, short of the nightmare moon one. We even had one where luna had returned as luna and not nightmare moon, and was fighting discord. they were all unsatble, and were not supposed to exist, as zecora points out, nad likely never were afterwards. Least that is the most logical explanation i can find using the show's concepts. It was ultimately a paradox again.
@taddad26419 жыл бұрын
***** well think of this. nothin the tree has provided them is Fated, its created. destiny is a creation, not a force. also its illogical to think that. hwo would beat nightmare moon? Celestia, who is weaker? Chrysalis, who is too reliant on a trick and an unknown power up to beat said weaker entity? and why wouldn't this powerful being or force be involved in the fight against the villains too, and or be the ones in charge? these timelines being corrupted and damaged makes more sense.

The war would slowy strip Equestria of its precious resources and lead them to wars with the zebra nations across the sea for their precious coal. Honestly. I can without a doubt or even a moment of hesitation say this is the best season finally to be created in this show as of yet. There were so many awesome things in this episode, good story, good characters, decent pacing and just all around awesome episodes and anything that can be said negatively about the episode can mostly be blamed on the time-limit and even then the other season finals have the same flaws, just worse. Starlight was amazing. TWilight was amazing. Spike was awesome. Any character was good and well-written and all the different timelines was just a pleasure to view and bring some really dark implications to the show as a whole. My favorite part would be the Sombra scene with the mind control of the Crystal Ponies, that leaves some dark implications to something like that may have happened in the past under his first rule.

I can actually relate to starlight to a degree. I once tragically hurt my only friend when i was bullied in elementary school, and I had no way to cope with it except create false fronts and fake happiness so I could prevent any new grief, but that did nothing for my current(well past now, but you get the idea) grief. Eventually that lead me down a slippery slope to severe depression, and it was not until I realized how much support was shown for me was I able to speak up and receive help. Honestly, that was the best choice of my life, mostly cause if I took a different road, I would not be here today. But as similar as the reactions to losing an only friend during a time where a good coping mechanism goes, at least I did not go completely psychotic as a result.

I don't really have many words to describe how I feel about these episodes. I loved them, obviously! And as Dr. Wolf said, there's little to nothing to complain about them. But although I don't really know what to say I do know I have one thing in mind I am struggling to understand... We all know Twilight is really powerful, with or without a boost in her magic powers (as seen on the fight against Tirek) but just how powerful is she, really? Or rather... how powerful is Starlight? I mean, seriously; WHAT EVEN IS THAT PONY?! I won't say Twily was getting her tail handed to her but she certainly was barely keeping up against Starlight on their magic fight! And flying with only levitation magic? How come Twilight never thought of that? Man. I was NOT expecting Starlight to have so much magic in her! She's way more powerful than she appears! If she truly joins the Mane 6 for future episodes as Dr. Wolf suggested she might (I honestly wouldn't mind! I wouldn't mind at all!), she certainly should be a great addition to the team! She definitely has the magic power to be a huge support for Twilight and the others. At least when it comes to the need of magic. On a side note; am I the only one who found Sunburst's design freaking adorable? I want to see him in future episodes. Especially a re-encounter with Starlight. Those two need to mend their friendship and Twilight and her friends sure will be of great help towards that. I'm pretty sure what happened between them was just a big misunderstanding on Starlight's part. At least it seemed that way. Can't wait for season 6!

To answer your question Mile Dragon, Starlight's power came many years of studying magic. Remember the ending she said something along with "I studied magic for years how can you....." This was the best season finale ever! All the cameos were so fun. I was hoping to see Fluffle Puff with Chrysalis, but my favorite arc was with Zecora. The final scene had all the fan favorite ponies! I can see it now- Discord cane vs. Twilight cane!!
@BlueStarBrony9 жыл бұрын
Once again congratulations on getting this out so fast! I think my favorite villain was Nightmare Moon since at least for me she was the most fun. Although it seems like she gets scarier with every time she reappears. Got to get this out of the way, Celestia leading a army and fighting directly herself shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, or at least anyone that has been following Celestia's character as presented in the show and not the Bronies Anti-Celestia interpretations... Short answer we've seen Celestia (and the other Princesses) fight directly for Equestria before so if there was a full on war the Princess would be on the front lines and not hiding in their castles. Also to be blunt the only mistake Celestia made in the S4 finale was trusting Discord to begin with...Everything after that is her (and the other Princesses) improvising to get out of a bad situation they weren't expecting to be in. I also think the writers were trying to force this confrontation between Tierk and Twilight, but enough of that. I really liked this episode although it seems like this was kind of drawn out. A lot of these scenarios are interesting but ultimately aren't really important to the end story since it's only the final show down between Starlight and Twilight that matters. I did like that this is another situation where Twilight can't just blast her way out of a situation (Although I'm surprised she can't...Maybe she really does need to work on her aim. lol) But this is after all the MLP way. lol I really liked Starlights backstory since in short I understand how she feels all too well. I'm glad that she was redeemed and I don't think it was too quick since all Twilight really has to do is say in a way is you can have friends and I'm here to help you. Awww that was so touching! I actually liked the song I thought it was ok, perhaps not the greatest but I really liked it. So ends season 5. It was a pretty good season overall with a lot of ups and downs but a lot of really emotionally satisfying episodes. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what they come up with for Season 6. The way you described Starlight's past made me immediately think of Emi Ibarazaki and Hanako Ikezawa from Katawa Shoujo: loss of a close relative (or friend, in Starlight's case) due to an accident and the horrid memories that come with it. Her rage is equivalent to that of Hanako's Bad Ending where neither are looking for pity. Her demeanor is like that of Emi, a Stepford Smiler who uses happiness to cover her past and keep her true emotions close to her chest.

While I did mostly enjoy the episode I think the ending sucked and Starlight was forgiven too easily. And you can't even use "it's for kids" excuse with this one since the episode had more than one war and a future which heavily implies everypony DIED.

+ToughTheWigglytuff One of the main points of season 5 that anyone even people who were complete jerks could change and that you should always be the bigger person and give them a chance to prove themselves. True some people just can't change in the end, but if you don't give someone that chance then your only helping the mistake happen again.

+ToughTheWigglytuff About Starlight Glimmer being forgiven too quickly, the most harmful thing (if you want to call it harmful) she's done in the regular timeline was trying to control people. She didn't kill anyone, but she was willing to take any punishment given her actions.
@Frozen_Death_Knight9 жыл бұрын
+ToughTheWigglytuff While I don't think that the ending completely sucked, I agree that it has some serious flaws to it. Starlight was forgiven way too easily considering the serious implications of her actions upon the entire world. While I don't think she was completely irredeemable since she had a hard time accepting the outcome of changing the past, which was an understandable character trait in this case; being that close to destroying the world is still not something that should be brushed over so easily. Instead of having that song about friendship the ending should have focused on Starlight actually attoning for her actions as a lead-up to the next season where she starts improving her stance with the mane 6 as well as the village at the start of season 5. Just to draw an example from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Zuko, the villain in the first two and a half seasons, tries to redeem himself by joining the main cast to end the war that was going on. A bunch of the episodes after him joining focuses on him trying to prove himself to every main character which in the end helps truly redeem Zuko in the eyes of the characters and the audience. This is what should have happened with Starlight and it would have improved the pacing a lot in the end.

Well I have to say that I loved the season finale though like you I wish they had had more time to explore all the alternate timelines and how the mane six developed without the sonic rainboom. Oh well to the realms of fanfiction for all of that. While I thought Starlight's redemption was rushed I really liked the reveal of her backstory. It's another one of Applebloom's nightmares come true where a friend getting their cutie mark ended a friendship. And I really felt a connection to her line "He got his cutie mark and I didn't! He moved on and I didn't!" It can hurt so much to see friends achieve things and move on without you, the jealously and hurt that can build up as you wonder why you aren't as good as they are. That could even add to Starlight's desire for revenge on Twilight. Perhaps she studied and worked just like Twilight did on her magic, thinking that if she showed talent like Sunburst she would go to Canterlot too and they could be friends again. Then the day comes when she gets her cutie mark and nothing changes. For whatever reason she doesn't study at Celestia's school. Then Twilight, miss perfect princess, prized magical student with her friends who all got their cutie marks at the same time comes along and takes away the one thing Starlight has built? No wonder she got angry enough to seek revenge and not care that the whole world fell apart due to her actions.
@spotpz9 жыл бұрын
Rather than see her start new friendships with the Mane Six, I would have preferred to see Starlight reunited with her childhood friend to find that he never forgot about her and the friendship never really died. That would have shown her that her friend's cutie mark wasn't what got in the way, but rather her own hopelessness in giving up on the friendship. That also would have avoided the awkwardness of those new friendships at the end.
@Fawnheart9 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Or, better yet- since they were already mucking around with the past with a spell that seemed to reset the timeline each time it was used- why not just tell filly Starlight that she can still write to her friend or take her for a visit to see him? No lost friendship = no villain Starlight. Redeem her before she was ever "lost" and finally put a new spin on all these villain redemptions while still having it be about friendship.

Funny enough, this got me thinking on the MMC episode, where an unfinished spell of Starswirl's shifted time as well. While the mane six merely swapped cutie marks rather than getting them at a later point... it still presents ideas as to what could have happened to prevent the returns of NMM, Discord, Chrysalis, and Sombra. Thoughts anypony?

3 complaints. 1: it felt rushed. But since they had to fit everything in 45 minutes, you can't really blame them. I wouldn't have minded to see an hour and a half movie with this premise. 2: Instead of having different timelines for the different villains, I wish it was one continuous timeline for all of the villains. (This would have actually helped my first complaint. It didn't really make sense why there was one villain at a time. When sombra came back, why wasn't discord there? When chrysalis was in her own world, why wouldn't tirek intervene? This was my biggest complaint, because it would've been really easy to make one timeline. Instead of grabbing the scroll when they went back, starlight destroys the scroll. This wouldn't have been a problem, if the multiple universes didn't feel like an afterthought. Wasted opportunity. Diamond dogs? 3: It broke the tradition. Season 1 finale: no fight. Season 2: fight with chrysalis. Season 3: no fight. Season four: tirek fight.

+VEN Productions Complaint 2 is understandable. I was always wondering why this villain or that villain was and why they weren't taking over Equestria or trying to conqueror it. At the very least, I always thought it would be either Nightmare Moon or King Sombra that would take over the most. How is that the changes to how the rainboom not forming cause all those other slight changes like that. Just stopping the rainboom should have caused either Sombra's future or Nightmare Moon's future at the very least; theirs seems more likely to happen. I would say Discord's future, but I have a feeling Nightmare Moon and Sombra are more powerful. I honestly wanted to see a future where it was King Sombra and his Queen Nightmare Moon; I would pay to see that. Complaint 1 is understandable too. But they have a short time limit so there's not much they or anyone else can do about that. It's a nitpick that is always understandable. Complaint 3 is just dumb
@davidweiss24079 жыл бұрын
For reason 2 it might be because the villains were defeated by someone else (maybe Celestial). We saw in the Discord timeliness both Luna and Celestial were there so it is possible that in some timelines Celestial managed to turn her sister back to normal or at the very least retrap her. It is all just speculation, but there could be a timeline where all the villains fight one another or possibly even team up.

Honestly don't know about Starlight. On one hand, she was probably the best villain in terms of getting what she wants:revenge. She followed Twilight for a while in secret, manage to rework an old spell, planned for Twilight returning to stop her, managed to outlast Twilight in battle to get the end result, and was the most smugest villain the show has ever seen. *slow clap*. Also, not beaten by Rainbows. She stops rainbows. She just knows what to do. On the other hand, her motivation is WEAK. You should be happy your friend got the opportunity to go to a good school, not give up on your social life and blame cutie marks. I get the this kind of thing happens in real life, where kids grow up with resentment over isolated incidents, but what happened to her isn't even that she got rejected, bullied, or handicapped because of cutie marks. She never tries to get a friend again. Please, work on these psychotic issues.

Point is, I didn't form a cult, do drugs, or try to screw up the world. One thing that took my notice in this epsideo especially was what Zecora said. That they, the ponies in her timeline, should not exist. There are a lot of holes. Largely the fact that the primary entity who would be left unchallenged had the mane six not come together is Nightmare Moon, yet we do not see her excep for her own part. It makes little sense that Sombra would be fighting Celestia, as nightmare moon would have returned before then. I think that statement by Zecora is the answer though. These are aberrated, unnatural timelines. They are what ifs when ti comes to villains, yet on the other hand they are logically flawed, because they were formed in a hapahzard fashion. In a sense they were not real. And the timelines grew more and more unstable each time, to the point that we had flim and flam destroying equestria somehow. They were false equestrias, each one ending when twilight returned, but ever threatening to make themselves a reality. From worse even. Character thrown into situations with mangled reasoning in how they progressed. So all these timelines ceased to be thankfully, so no one is suffering. But who knows what may have occured if Starlight had no stopped.

I enjoyed the episode up until they had Starlight Glimmer become yet another "reformed villain". I'm all for characters achieving redemption but the trope is getting really old in this show. I wonder what it would have been like to have someone like Cheese Sandwich, Pinkie Pie ruling over Equestria, though that would probably not be a bad future. Or maybe there could have been a world ruled by Flutterbat and it would be full of monster ponies. This was truly an episode to make us think. Gonna be a challenge to start season 6 after that. I would like to see Twilight continue to make friends with more of the different species in Equestria like the dragons. We also need some CMC episodes to see what they have been up to to help others to find their special talents. It is really great that even after 5 seasons there is still so many possibilities out there.

Perhaps it's just me, but I'm not nearly as smitten with Starlight's backstory as you and possibly others; for pretty much the reason you brought up: She's so petty in her actions! Look, what happened no doubt hurt, and if she wasn't such a stubborn bitch, she'd have my sympathy, but however justified her anger may be, that's no excuse for dragging the rest of the world down with her. But thankfully everything else made up for that in spades.
@7Seraphem79 жыл бұрын
+joinmarch76 Except she never wanted to 'drag the world down with her' she never intended for things to get that bad, and never really set out to hurt anypony beyond the Mane 6. It was seeing the result of her actions that helped to start her being willing to listen. Plus, we have seen the ponies can and will massively overreacted to minor things. Twi in lesson Zero, Pinkie in Party of One, plenty of options. Though even for ponies, her reaction was on the extreme side.
@joinmarch769 жыл бұрын
7Seraphem7 And yet that didn't stop her from continuing to act more stubborn than the Cartoon Network staff on their scheduling plans. Just saying, if she truly was only damaging the Mane Six and them alone, then she should have known better when she realized that her revenge would mean the ends of everyone, including she herself! Granted, she DOES get this through her head in the end, but still. And your point is? Those were completely different situations, acts of either desperation, temporary doubt about themselves, others, or all of the above. And besides, neither of your examples involved Armageddon occurring in the process.
@joinmarch769 жыл бұрын
***** While I'll agree with that somewhat, here's my problem with what you said: It's not the backstory itself that's the big problem, the problem is its execution. Maybe it's just because I've never really felt the way she does about losing a friend, but I think she not only overreacted to the event, but has little reason to use this as an excuse to enact her plans. Why? Because who she was friends with is someone that we have no idea who he is nowadays. And she seriously NEVER tried finding him again after that? If she revealed that she lived in Canterlot and knew Twilight, that'd be different since it'd show why she's so stubborn in letting this kind of grudge go. How do I know it'd work? Because I've seen such a past issue done before gracefully with Moondancer in Amending Fences. Here, however, we can't really identify with someone who acts less like a sociopath (though that indeed IS there), and more a childish, stubborn idiot that won't, to quote Queen Elsa, "Let it go!" And don't sell me that emotion bullcrap, that doesn't fly with the actions of other ponies, so what makes you think I'll give that a past to a backstory so pathetic compared to others?
@7Seraphem79 жыл бұрын
joinmarch76 It does not matter what you would do, or how you would handle it, what matters is how this wholly other person could, would, and did. Is it irrational? yes. Is it taking things WAY to damn far? Yes. Is it extreme, even for Ponies who routinely snap at the slightest minor issue? Yes. But that is simply who she is, the fact she reacted so hard is part of who she is and infoms her overall character.

***** Here's a few 1. Starlight's past. While she's an adorable filly (that hair), the only reason she hated cutie marks was because her only foal friend left her after he got his. My problem with that is Starlight eventually got her's later and she's grew up and lived for a good while. However long it took, she's a full grown mare and hasn't gotten over something so pity. I am one who thinks villains don't need much of a reason to be a villain so long as they show they are truly monstrous or evil (for example, the Dazzlings). With Starlight, she's neither, and therefor I need to see a reason why she was villain. I let the season opener got away with that because we didn't know much about her. Now we do, and with that past, I'm not impressed. 2. The time travel. I can understand that stopping the Rainboom would have catastrophic results since the Mane Six are the ones who stop all the evil, but how is it that the slightest different way the Rainboom was stopped would determine which villain ruled? Starlight magically holds Rainbow Dash leads to Sombra. Starlight convincing the kids not to bully Fluttershy lead to Queen Chrysalis (with a different voice), etc. Each future begs the questions of "How?" and "Why?" Why did holding Rainbow Dash lead to Sombra, and how did the ponies even defeat Nightmare Moon, Discord, and Chrysalis, all of whom came before Sombra? Why did reasoning with bullies lead to Chrysalis ruling Equestria with only a resistance left to defy her and (again) how were the previous villains defeated? The other futures ask the same questions. Nightmare Moon and Discord were defeated by the Elements of Harmony, something that wouldn't even work without the Mane Six being friends, so that's a pretty "How?" Now I will say each future is a treat to see (the war with Sombra being my favorite), but the plot holes really outweigh the visuals. 3. The ending. MLP has a history of redeeming villains. And to its credit, it has worked quite well. I, like many others, love Princess Luna, Sunset Shimmer, and Diamond Tiara now. However, there does come a breaking point where reformations won't work, and Starlight was the one for me. After being shown that her actions would ruin Equestria, Starlight almost immediately reforms and becomes Twilight's student. Now, Sunset's reformation was much faster, but here's the big difference; we got to see Sunset work for it. Sunset became good, but next to no one at Canterlot High accepted her still. She was suffering from her mistakes, she was being proactive in trying to fit in (yet she wasn't successful), and that's why it worked. We saw being good didn't lead to her getting free a pass. With Starlight, she stops being evil so quickly (without the need of any magic beams), gets offered the awesome position of Twilight's pupil, and EVERYONE in Equestria loves her. Now, probably most citizens of Equestria outside the Mane Six's entourage wouldn't know about Starlight, but even the town she manipulated forgave her after just a BRIEF conversation. And she becomes Twilight's student? Sunset and Moondancer are more qualified. Sunset was Celestia's protege, and she's good now, so why not her? Moondancer is almost as intelligent as Twilight, and she would like some friendship lessons, so why not her? With Starlight, she turns good fast, get's offered the position due to her talent, and everyone loves her. The end. No, that is not working for me. We have seen two characters in Sunset and Moondancer, beloved by the fandom so much that they could fit in, yet they gave us Starlight (a character we've barely seen make any attempt to be a good a pony) after such a weak reformation. Honestly, I think it would've worked better if Starlight stayed bad and ran away. There's are just a few reasons. I could write more, but I didn't want to make you read too much (though I think I already failed at that at this point). I hope that gives you some insight to why I feel the way I do about this finale.

+vm141789 While I still like the episode, I agree with your points. However, I might have to object to your first one. While creating a cult just because you lost a friend is a little petty (Not pity) it caused her to become unwilling to make friends. Growing up with no friends can be detrimental to your mental health and potentially mentally scar you. Other than that, your points make sense.

After a bit of thought, I realize that this episode actually incorporates a bit of every episode from the season into it. Like in Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep there was not being able to get over the past. In made in Manhatten during the King Sombre timeline it showed every pony doing what they can to help. From Hoofields and McColts how fighting was just going to lead to a never ending feud between Twilight and Starlight and so on with every episode.

Starlight Glimmer's resolve after her friend moved on is solid I think. Sure at that particular moment it doesn't seem like much. It's more like a wake up call. But she had years afterwards for this hatred to boil over it. Just as Dr. Wolf here said. Starlight was probably thinking about how other ponies, like Trouble Shoes, were suffering the same fates, or worse, because of the Cutie Mark, and how many other lives were (in her eyes) being dictated by them. And as years went on, her anger toward Cutie Marks grew. So she decided to take it into her own hooves, and start building a world without them so Cutie Marks didn't have that dictatorship over every pony's lives. basically; a world where they may even be able to make their own choices. Which isn't bad at all. It's just how she did it. But as I think about it. I really like this antagonist. She is by far my favorite because she seems more rounded.

I love the idea of in the sombra timeline the princesses and changelings having join together because sombra isn't only affect the pony kind but changeling food sources even having a possible special task group of ponies and changeling working together on missions to take put sombra. I'm also think of the kind of weaponry changelings would use in that kind of fight plus the type agreement made with the changelings to get their help

The many time lines made me question so much on how each villains release would affect the other and if, since the mane 6 never took action, did anyone else? It's the the episodes that make me question that I like is definitely my favorite. Maybe I'll write a fanfic for each timeline or my own thought-up timeline.

Hey DR Wolf001 What happen to Spike in the future timelines we didn't get to see him and what will happen to him in Season 6 of they are added a new main character to a full cast of characters. Spike is my favorite main character and I hope to see great episodes about him in the next Seasons but sometime I think he never will get to be anything then what he is now.

I LOVED this episode! I can't wait for season 6! Anyone know when it's coming out?

I loved the alternate timelines but I would of liked to know why those subtle changes made each timeline the way they were. We saw every villain have a timeline to themselves, How? What was the change that made all the villains fail before Tirek or the change to make Nightmare Moon stay in power? Flim and Flam had their own timeline, no other villains are in it? Just the questions popping in my head after watching the season finale. One other note look at Bulk Biceps in the group photo, he knows something.

Oh my gosh yes please let's do an entire episode about the Filly mane six that would be adorable!!! I also loved the war dimension. Rainbow Dash's hair and wing were way too awesome for words!! I also agree season five was awesome and I can't wait to see more development to Starlight Glimmer's character in the near future.

Hey Dr. Wolf, when are you bringing back Memories of an Equestrian Wolf? I really loved that series and I want learn more about your origin story. Keep up the great work!

hey there doc. I was wondering, that part when twilight sparkle and starlight glimmer travel to the present, did it ever come to you that that scene was a reference to fallout Equestria? I mean if this is taking place in the shows present, wouldn't that mean the mega spells and bailfire bombs just fell? Or sometime recently, leaving a desolate wasteland in its place? I don't know, just throwing this out there. I really would like to here if this came to your mind or not and if this is a good theory. from one of your favorite subs, KK

doc, what about "the strange case of shared cutiemark" of the CMC being material for a presentation by the princess of friendship?

I personally saw BIG similarities with this episode and an episode from the 2003 TMNT series, Same as It Never Was. IT followed a similar plot to this episode. Donnie is sent to an alternate timeline where Shredder took over because his brothers didn't have Donnie to help them fight. Splinter was dead, Leo was blind, Mikey lost an arm, the city was in ruin and all his friends were in a post apocalyptic resistance. Sorry if there are no turtle fans out there, but it was just an observation on my part and it helped me enjoy the episode even more. :)

This season finale was epic. Definitely gives Twilight's Kingdom compotition. Season 5 was amazing, not only do we get so many amazing episode, but it ended so many over arching arcs theoughout the show so well and best of all: NO FANDOM DRAMA AGAIN... Except the the finalie debunks the headcanons of what happens if the rainboom never happend. Now for the episodes best to worst: 1. Cutie Re-Mark 2. Slice Of Life 3. Crusaders Of The Lost Mark 4. Do Princesses Dream Of Magic Sheep (Not because Luna's in it) 5. Amending Fences 6. Lost Treasure of Griffonstone 7. Make New Friends But Keep Discord 8. Rarity Investigates 9. Cutie Map 10. Tanks For The Memories 11. The Mane Attraction 12. Scare Master 13. Canterlot Bouteque 14. Boom and Gloom 15. Hearthbreakers 16. The Hoofeilds and Mccolts 17. Made In Manehatten 18. Castle Sweet Castle 19. What About Discord 20. The One That Pinkie Knows 21. Brotherhood Social 22. Party Pooped 23. Applelossa's Most Wanted 24. Princess Spike

Personally, I hated Crusaders of the Lost Mark. Most people thought it was an amazing episode only because the CMC got their cutie marks, but tbh Diamond Tiara didn't deserved to be forgiven. Just because her Mom was B****, doesn't mean she should be too.

This is one of the times that I really wish the writers were allowed to write for multiple episode arcs. I'd have loved to see each of these worlds given attention to for at least half an episode. Well, maybe not all the ones near the end.

Nice review. And another great conclusion to another season! However, I'm not sure that I can call this season better that the last. It's at least the same quality as last season. I'm planning on looking over all the episodes in a video and then coming to a conclusion, because I REALLY need to get my thoughts straight. As for this episode, it was near perfection; that's all that needs to be said :)

In all honesty I think Season 5 was marvelous! We had a few hiccups along the way, but overall it was the best season to date. And the best part we have Season 6 already confirmed, and this episode sparked a theory in my head. Tell me if you notice the trend here; Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, Moon Dancer, Sun Burst (starlight's friend from the past). All of which are magically gifted unicorns with a similar sounding name. Now this is a puzzle that has me turning it over, and over in my head. Does this follow the whole nature/nurture debate, and all magically gifted unicorns have something celestial in their name? Or perhaps the writers are building up to something involving all these characters? Really this is a tidbit of headcanon I love chewing over in my head, and I'd like to hear the opinions of everyone else, including you Doctor Wolf. KEEP GOING STRONG!!!!!!!

that time travel scroll still exists, it fell down underneath that sonic rainboom and is probably resting in the woods where Fluttershy met those animals. this could come up again in a future episode.

I joined the fandom in... oh, October 2014. I felt relieved when Season 5 aired, but kinda felt guilty that I didn't have to deal with the year long hiatus that the rest of the fandom did. And now... here I am... waiting for a year... *Goes to Vault 111* Wake me up in a year.
