Since Twilight's image appears over the combined crystals, it looks less like a message they just "come across" and more like a message that was embedded within the crystals all along. But to me it feels less like a message and more like an interactive avatar of some sort, perhaps Twilight's spirit or essence within the crystals. That would explain why she's in her original "small" form (or so it seems) - a simple recorded message should have shown her ultimate alicorn form. It's also possible that this isn't Twilight at all, but some other entity that assumed her form, kind of like the Tree of Harmony's Spirit had done.

That was my automatic assumption as I did recall hearing theories about the crystals being remains of the tree of harmony, so it'd make sense that it contains the same spirit. It would even soften the blow of Tara Strong not being there since it's technically not the real Twilight.

I think the reason The Earth Pony's Power is so major is because it's been suppressed for so much time now it's back and most likely boosted it's going a little hay wire it will probably Mellow out as thing's progress. I believe it's a bit odd that the projection looks so young. That would mean the hologram was made at a very young stage of Twilight's reign, or, that's the Spirit of the Tree of Harmony.

I like to say that Twilight is not going to turn away the mane 5 as the stars. If anything, I would think this could be one of three things. 1) Twilight put a portion of herself in the crystals with the side effect of her being seeing before ultimate Alicorn form (as some call it) to be a guide to the next gen with advice like Mufasa was for Simba or for Kion in Lion Guard. 2) it’s the tree of Harmony slowly getting its magic back and with a new threat, seeks out to communicate the next generation that has the magic of Friendship. Or 3) It’s possible Twilight fully sealed herself in the crystals while loosing her ultimate Alicorn state as a last resort sacrifice and doing so trapped herself in another dimension connected to the crystals. No matter how you slice it, she is meant to be a mentor/ support character for the new cast and help them in someway.

I'm of the belief that misty would want to be good and join the crew, because she doesn't look or sound like she wants to be bad I think she is doing it for the sake of her master or adopted mom. I have 3 theories. 1: Her friends has passed away so she started to have deppresion after they passed away, So she made the crystals and took all her soul in them (Like all of them) And there already was a Alicorn that could take her place. But that could so be the evil Alicorn of these new episodes of G5. 2: Twilight made the crystals to represent all 3 pony "forms" but there started a war that she could´nt handle (also with all her guards) and the Evil Alicorn could have started the war and took Twilight in the crystals, and the evil Alicorn won the war. 3: The magic started to dissapear again. but all the powerfull ponies had passed away accept Twilight. So she made the crystals and took all her magic in the crystals. (as we heard in the season 8 finale, artifacts was that magic that could hold the magic longest) And that´s why she did that. I have also heard it could be the Tree of harmony. as it only was the crystals that got destroyed. But who knows...🤔 Maybe its something all of us did´nt think of...

As for MLP, I grew up watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and cherished every moment of it including the fandoms music and amazing storytelling. I am not afraid to say I believe it’s the best show out of all of them (standing alongside Amphibia and Owl House) regardless of its faults, what they helped to create both inside and outside in our world is truly a fantastic amazing feet to acknowledge. The trailer for chapter 2 has made me more hyped than ever! and just like you Doc i too was shocked to see a hologram of Twilight at the end of it and as for her voice well i've heard that this time she's going to be voiced by Rebecca Shoichet. but since nothing official has been said about it yet that's only a rumor until the special actually comes out. and as for the everything else in the trailer i was happy to see that they'll be bringing Sprout back as well, and by the looks of that hat he was wearing he's probably still doing community service for his actions in the movie. and i was even glad that the chapter 2 trailer confirmed that Misty was gonna be a spy.

The Twilight sparkle ending hologram reminds me of a cut idea for the series gundam unicorn where there was a bit in the ending fighting that the unicorn gundam in destroyer unchained mode is downed and weaponless and the banshee norn stopped by the pilot due to the banshee gundam had detected his previous pilot and didn't want to hurt her but the main bit was that 2 of the neo zeeong arms blows up and the crotch mounted mega particul cannon got destroyed by something and this is the reference bit the original rx 78 2 gundam shows up looking like that holographic twilight sparkle but anyway it would also show again when the rx 93 nu gundam appears like that odd holographic twilight sparkle but anyway it and the fin funnels would make 2 more psycho fields rounding the total to 5 and the massive blast would be haulted and the unicorn gundam pilot saw the ghost of armaro ray and the ghost said I always be with you and there

I've yet to see that trailer(too much stuff going on for me, because of my birthday coming in 3 days), but after what you said, am I excited? WITHOUT QUESTION! But, I mainly hope that Opaline(sorry if misspelled) & Misty will effectively separate in their intentions, as in, Misty turns good, and Opaline has to face her. Other than that, my expectations are pretty modest at this point. I'm not hoping for miracles, but I am hoping for the rest of this series to hit hard, like how G4 left a legacy. We'll see, I guess.

i just went to watch the trailer for the episode that will come out september 26, and i have some few thought about it that i was already thinking even after the trailer for the movie back almost 2 years ago: 1° As of it now, we don't know all of the reasons that led equestria to be what it is, what we do know for now is that this new alicorn appeared in equestria after the events of the season 9 of G4, there is comics of the G5 showing that Discord it is still around equestria, in fact he resides now in "The abandoned" kinda looklike city of Canterlot, where, using his words, was the city that showed unification between the pony tribes and other races, but then this new alicorn came and spread disharmony and misstrust between the ponies, with the intention of stealing the all powerful magic of equestria. 2° As of it now, the comics are coming one each almost every 2/3 weeks, and with it, some little backstory of the events that happened in the "old times" equestria, such as the main six leading equestria into peace and harmony between the country and its surroundings ones for many years, until that alicorn appeared. We still don't know what happened to the main six and if there is something like a memorial somewhere, telling more about what they did after the unification, the only thing that we have is Discord telling the main five of G5 what he saw and knows, in minor details on top of it, saying things as "I have seen what you have done for equestria but i can't simple let the cristals that you restore magic to it continue to be in there" since that he fears being the "last" one of the old equestria, he would ended up failing with his friends with "his mission" of protecting equestria in their absence. 3° The cristals itself was shown in the comics of G5 that Twilight created them in order to maintain the magic of equestria to its minimum, in order for the other races and even the ponies to not fear each other and to not let that alicorn to get it too much or even just a small portion of it, as well there was all the main six when the cristals where created it doesn't look like that the others bounded the cristals with their magic/the elementals of harmony's magic with Twilight when it was being created, so there is no sign yet to have all the elementals magic in the new world of equestria since that the cristals now power the magic of the ponies in the land, but with this new form of magic that the earth ponies can perform, i suspect that even this cristals of the tribes could have gained some subconscious like the Spirit of Harmony did, which it developed a better and more advanced way of understanding the land of equestria and protecting its inhabitants.

hm, the question with the twilight appearance is what it is. Since it is a projection it could be a message from the past like you said, it could be a trap hidden as a message from the past, or even something like the tree of harmony where it used twilight's image to speak to someone, or it could be a dream/fantasy of sunny's as she has no role models for what she is now.

First things first, thanks to a friend of mine, I don't think what we see here is actually Twilight. If she was, knowing that the crystals were made some times after the G4 finale, she would've appeared in the recording as her fully grown self. But that wasn't the case. That, plus the whole being projected out of the crystals and the fact that something is planning to tamper with magic, makes me believe that what we see is the spirit of harmony, since last time we saw it was in the episode where the crystal treehouse appeared while becoming part of it. I honestly can't wait to see what will Hasbro do with this special setting and I honestly hope this theory turns out to be true
