I love the juxtaposition of how bad ass the band is playing to the very ease of her subtle voice and stature

there's something really special happening here...I feel with many bands, musicians will create music as a canvas for a lyricist to paint on, but with this band the lyricist is the canvas, and the musicians aren't painting on her, they're painting around her...truly cool

@Kirk Wolfe I respectfully disagree. Travel will be back. Besides, I don't think many bands were writing about touring/drinking/trashing, were they? Doing it, maybe, but not writing about it? Plus wasn't it really only the extravagant bands of the '70s actually doing that, ie not "indie" bands? And I don't agree that there is anything different going on with this song. I'm not saying it's not good, but I don't think this particularly unique. All the best for your music and your new album!

these lyrics are so raw tho! cuz the first 10+ times I heard this tune it was when KZbin autoplayed it in mixes based on stuff like Sonic Youth, when I put it on in the background while cleaning etc... the sound really struck me and I thought "I can see why there's some hype around this band, they've got something pretty fresh going..." but when I finally actually listened to it, it was one of those things where the lyrics suddenly hit you. some pretty heavy shit, worded cleverly, and kind of subversively but simply, if you actually listen. the sonic texture the band is creating fits the words perfectly... kinda like Yard Act... cool shit
