Today we follow up on the first 10 days of performance with our newly constructed wood-fired solar kiln. We'd like to use our solar kiln to dry firewood as quickly and as efficiently as possible. The maximum temperature we were able to get the kiln over the course of the week was about 115F and after a few days of higher temperatures, the wood released steam when split open, showing the wood was able to heat up significantly, but after 10 days, the temperatures weren't sustained high enough to completely dry out the wood.

~~About Us~~
We're a 43 acre Christmas tree farm in central Virginia. We bought the property in November 2018 and have been documenting our whole journey starting this business from the ground up. We didn't have any ag experience prior to starting this business, so we're constantly learning as we go! Over the years we’ve expanded from just Christmas trees into doing pick-your-own flowers and firewood.
We are thankful for you viewers and subscribers and love your comments and feedback!
