Tying flies rocks

My best BWO patterns are tied wet-fly style with front hackle...fished dry. The reason for this is that these tiny flies are many times blown over by the wind and end up on their sides.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone catch a fish and say it was mean. All fish are just upstanding!

Very Nice & Educational Video My Friend...(yes wonder what rod & reel wt do you use for those Small Flys...)

Hi Freddy, we use Loop Evotec 4 WT MF for all of our small bug fishing. The reel we use is a Opti Creek from loop and everything is geared with 6X tapered leaders and tippets. Hope this helps.

How can u see takes on such a small fly so far away?
@rabecorvo10 жыл бұрын
If you make your cast about 18 inches out front of your feeding fish you will only have to track the bug 18 inches to the fish. If you start flock shooting with these small bugs you will lose them everytime. Pick one fish out and serve him the fly. This is the best way I know of to see small flies at pretty far distances.

Nice fishing! I urge you to read up on proper catch and release techniques. For example, fish should not be lifted out of the water, especially in very cold weather, as their gills are easily damaged by the cold. Also, moving the fish back and forth is an old technique that has been disproven.
