Lost count of the many bits of string lines you have lost Josh - you really need to learn how to roll them up at the end of the day's work! 🤣🤣🤣 Going to be a wonderful-looking building by the time you've finished working on it - can't wait. Thanks for the uploads matey.

Incredible skill, phenomenal talent how did you learn? Did you have to go to college or from other Masons? What a skill and very different to normal red bricks.

Thank you for your kind words, I wouldn’t call it talent it’s just doing something you love, all day everyday! Yes I was lucky as I learnt from good, old school people.

I've watched a number of your videos and find them both entertaining and informative. I have rebuilt several dry stone walls over the years and now I am in the process of rebuilding an other. Unfortunately the walling material is poor quality rubble stone and I intend to make a suedo dry wall reinforced with a concealed mortar bed for stability, as yourself has used a number of times. Can you tell me the materials you use, ie soft/ sharp sand , cement/lime, plasticer etc and their ratios. Thanks, Robert
@J.HarveyStoneworkАй бұрын
Thank you for watching Robert. Mostly it’s 3/1 ratio of 3.5 nhl or a 6/1 cement. I use at least half grit sand in each mix but does differ for colour etc.

@@J.HarveyStonework Thanks for the info. I think the lime mortar option is probably the most appropriate for my project.
@J.HarveyStoneworkАй бұрын
@@rhobday5814 Yes if using nhl just check the strength as it can sometimes be too strong for the stone. Also check out hot lime as that’s the best to be honest. Have fun with your project!

What are those pointed oval holes in the black plastic wall coverings for?
@J.HarveyStoneworkАй бұрын
It’s an extra way of binding the cladding and the cavity together.
