Just curious guys, short of owning your own doc, anyone seen a similar kind of marina?? Like where everyone gets their own little dock and some yard?

It's not a "hot water heater" it's a water heater. If the water were hot it wouldn't need heating. 👍

I grew up about 50 miles South of New Orleans on the Mississippi River. There were no sailboats, only power/fishing boats. I used to daydream about having a sailboat, going through the locks at Empire, La. into the river and heading South. The world was waiting for me beyond the passes.

We had a dock like that for twenty years on Toronto Island (Canada.) BBQ, picnic table, lawnchairs. Also, be safe, replace your new 120V outlet with a GFI outlet. Great vid and Kira is such a cutie!

I watch quite a few sailing channels and y’all are the first to sail in and stay in my state. Too bad I’m about as far as one can get from someone in this small state. I’m in NW corner of Louisiana. Thumbs up for being here look forward to many videos of you guys exploring our great state. About time we got some love from the sailing community. 👍👍👍👍

When I was still working in the Merchant Marine in 2000, the company I worked for, ran wet rock (phosphate) out of Tampa. We did runs to Uncle Sam's which is north of New Orleans every week. The Chief Engineer knew a guy that lived in New Orleans. He would run his boat out in the river near Governor Nick's Warehouse and delivered fresh crawfish to us. I miss those days. Definitely enjoying your videos!

The sand is quartz sand. Squeaks when you walk on it. That power boat that went screaming by was pretty cool to put in the video. I just came from the Desert Storm Shoot Out in Lake Havasu Arizona. There were a ton of boats just like that.

There are two types of sailers... 1) who has hit bottom.. 2) those that are going to hit bottom. I hit bottom twice in 1 week 20 plus years ago. It happens don't stress it. Keep up the GREAT VIDEOS! Wife and I enjoy watching your channel. May I ask, what size is your cat?

A heads up about shore pressure: you want to turn it off when you leave the boat because if a hose pops, you have the equivalent of a hose filling your boat. I almost sank our boat in the marina before we even left to go cruising because the hose to the water heater broke. Otherwise, city pressure is the best!
@jandradventures5 жыл бұрын
Yup! Good advice. Note the Quick Hose Attachments at either end to make it super easy. Ritual leaving boat is lock the door and pop off the hose.

Good and practical question. That's one of the perks of a composting head. No need for pumpouts. Another boat there said they had the appropriate treatment system on board for dumping. They also had a marina bathroom with toilets and showers. Not fancy, but not dirty, just sorta utilitarian.

Are those flexible solar panels? I have heard from Ryan and Sophie Sailing and Free Range Sailing that the power output from some of these are well below specs. Free Range actually had similar hard panel and did some real time testing and the flexible panels they bought operated around half the power output form the older hard panels.

I haven't really seen a place where you can get your own yard ever. Though I wanted to tell you that some insurance companies don't like on demand propane hot water and will not insure you. So make it easily removable.

Boating With Boogaboo probably has the best I've seen. it's like a camp ground, but everybody has their own gear locker, pick-nic table, grille, etc. i'd bet Paul pays a lot of money for that patch of grass.

So, Ive been watching you guys for quite awhile and I have enjoyed you sharing your struggles and successes in this venture. I must say this is the first video that you’ve made that I really did not enjoy. I hope this doesn’t seem ugly and that my comments will be received as constructive criticism. The rush method of most of the beginning of the video was very difficult to follow and did not give me much chance to enjoy what seemed like some potentially beautiful visuals. To me this was wasted opportunity. Also, it’s seems like your video quality was somewhat diminished during this period as well. Once you got to the Louisiana marina and slowed down a bit , things were a bit more enjoyable. Granted a lot of what you talked about may not have seemed exciting or visually stimulating but it was informative and added to the follow up on your ongoing progress toward your goals. For me this is a big part of why I watch as I have future plans of living aboard myself on a catamaran. Hope my comments are helpful in perfecting your craft as I know your Patreon support is also important. Your baby is super cute and I wish your family all the best in your endeavor.
