Im ashamed to admit I let me dryer be broken for so much longer than necessary. It was not heating nor shutting off. Only tumbling forever. I didn't realize how easy it would be to fix by myself. I didn't want to shell out hundreds for a handyman so I did a little bit of research. It was surprisingly easy information to find and this video was excellent and solved my exact problem. It took me more time moving my dryer out than it did replacing the part. Im happy to report my dryer heats and turns off by itself now. Thank you very much, I think I'll try DIY methods more often now. You gave me some confidence!

Another thing we should do while replacing the thermal fuse is to clean the vents. Blockages in the vent will increase the temperature and burn out the fuse again. It’s always good practice to clean out the vents.

I am truly so grateful for you making this video!!! My dryer has been broken since November 8, 2023. It just up and quit working after I had just spent time, and money, fixing my washer. So I just started hanging clothes on the line while I save money for what I'm assuming would be an electrical issue...since it wouldn't even power on. I even contemplated replacing my 8 year old set. THEN, I came across your video a few weeks ago and sent it to my son. I have recently had neck surgery so I definitely couldn't do any of the work. Cut to yesterday, January 20, 2024 when my son bought a multimeter and checked the fuse. He found one on Amazon for a mere $2. He ended up buying a 3 pack for $5. Package arrived today. For over 2 months I've been stressing over a part that took 2 minutes and $2 to replace!?

Fantastic video! This was so easy. My dryer stopped working and all the internet articles seemed to suggest it was either the thermal fuse or the door switch. I tried the thermal fuse first and the dryer works again. Once I had the part I was done in 20 minutes. Thank you so much!

Thanks! Even on a much older Whirlpool dryer the layout is exactly the same. I bought this part for about $10 shipped and it took maybe 20 minutes to do the job. I spend another 20 mins doing a through lint clean up with a brush and my shop vac. Last time I paid to have this fuse replaced it was at least $125.00+ and that was 7-8 years ago. Thanks again!

GREAT VIDEO, My dryer is exactly the same on the back. Tested fuse with my multimeter and it was open. Hard part was getting the fuse! Had to order it on-line as could not find one in any local store (including Lowes, Home Depot, ACE, and Sears appliance store). Did a thorough vacuum and cleanup with the cover off and the hose disconnected. Replace fuse, replace cover, VOILA all working fine again. THANK YOU.

@partselect
@partselect 8 жыл бұрын
+Jameson Frogge You may have shorted the cover to a wire on the terminal block. This would cause a fuse or circuit breaker in your electrical panel to open. Unplug the dryer and check the cover for signs of an electrical arc and reposition the wire terminals if necessary. Make sure the terminal screws are tight. Replace any blown fuse or reset the breaker in the electrical panel and remember to always leave the appliance unplugged until your repairs are complete.

The motor and drum of my Amana Dryer 7929 run when the start button is pushed. However, the timer does not move and there is no heat produced to dry the clothes. May I know what the problem is and a possible solution please?
@partselect
@partselect 9 жыл бұрын
Don Coleone This model number is incomplete which makes it difficult to narrow down the possibilities. If you are using an “Auto-Dry” cycle that may explain the timer advance issue, as heat is required to activate the thermostat controlling the timer motor. You may have a defective heating element, cycling or high limit thermostat or defective timer or motor contact that is creating the no heat issue. Have you verified that you have the proper voltage at the electrical outlet?

My dryer vent is on an interior wall so the lint (what the screen doesn’t catch) has to pass through the hose to the wall, take a 90 degree turn and then blow vertically all the way up and out at the roof. Over time it builds up, so I have to go up into the attic and separate the ridged vent pipe. Using an empty peanut jar, (which is just slightly smaller than the vent pipe) weighted with pennies and with a string attached to the lid, I insert it into the pipe and drop it down the pipe. This knocks the lint buildup down to the 90 degree turn where the dryer hose attaches to the wall. I asked an appliance repair tech what method he used, and he said a leaf blower, but I do not have one.

I took off the back panel to look around but the heating element is wedged too well to get it out for a look over. it's a LHE6900N0. I went looking online and it true to direct me to LHE6900W0.
