Which way should it face? Front facing the washing or the rear facing the washing?

It doesn't matter as the dehumifier will pick up the air from a much larger space in your home (depending on the tank capacity) than just the immediate surrounding area. I just pop mine in roughly the same position to the laundry as this video shows. I don't have this brand but a dehumifier is the best investment ive made. It also warms the home up so haven't had to have the heating on as much. Just make sure to close the windows when it's in operation otherwise it defeats the object.

Actually, scientifically it does mattet for the sake of efficiency.. Blow dry air through the drying rack, or suck moist air from the rack.. I let mine blast air onto the clothes in a matter than circulation is made. Moisture rises as well. therefore, keeping it elevated is in theory effective in eliminating moisture but you might risk not getting all of the dry air stream concentrated. My method: Tower rack Dehumidifier with adjustable top damper Place inside the rack, making its position within the center of the moisture zone, put to work, and blow dry air upwards

It will dry your clothes in 30% quicker time when stood next to the clothes airer. When used with our drying tent this will increase to 40% quicker
