I tend to use a combination of towel and dryer. Blow dry on wheels alone is worth it.

Hybrid drying is exactly what I do. I have a cheap regular electric blower to blow the side mirrors and more intricate areas and then use the drying towel. Seems to be best of both worlds. Keep up the videos, your doing great!

I have tried most methods including a dedicated car dryer. I use a combo like you now. I have compressed air so I generally use that for the intricate areas. I still use a leaf blower sometimes but like you said use a drying aid and good quality towel is the most affordable and quick method.

Excellent video! The only thing I’ve noticed is with a dryer only. If you have hard water you can get water spots. The towel dry and a good drying lubricant definitely helps. I like both methods together myself. You have fantastic results! Thank you for the video, and I hope you are having a great day!

Hi Heather, i usually use drying towel on the bodywork and blow dry the wheels.
@autocarehqextra3 ай бұрын
That’s a good idea, it’s a lot easier to dry wheels with a blower I think

Exactly how I use both. The drier can easily cause water spotting in warm weather. Really useful video 👍

Good video. I do the same thing. I blow off the bulk of the water and then use a medium-sized drying towel. I still get drips no matter what I use. Aggravating. Another small but interesting little piece of information is, the warmer the air temperature, the easier it is to dry a car. Cool/cold weather slows everything down. Thank you for video Heather.

Thanks Kim. Good info too! Yeah drips are the worst!

Hi Heather. I opted for using a towel rather than an air blower. I decided to try the "towel route" instead of the dedicated car dryer because of the cost and time required of electric dryers. I tried a leaf blower but that machine is not designed (weight wise) for car detailing. It was too heavy and not easily maneuvered to do what I wanted it to do. So I decided to try a Rag Company product, The Dryer Wolf. Quite frankly, this towel greatly surpassed my expectations. I simply dragged the towel across a panel and found that that panel was completely dry. No need for a second "swipe". No need for a light buff. And one towel was more than enough to dry one vehicle. I'm not saying that this towel is the best on the market because obviously as a DIYer I have not tried any other products. But this one did everything I wanted it to do (and more) and in my opinion, is great!! But I want to thank you for letting me know my options and with this knowledge I was able to make an educated decision. I'll use the leaf blower for the wheels and the lawn.

Combo approach for me too 👍. I have the Blo-Air GT but I've taken the wheels off and mounted it to the wall inside the garage. The hose is plenty long enough to easily get round the car and it really comes into it's own around the front grille, the wheels, and the door mirrors plus it gives my neighbours the chance to laugh at me using my 'hairdryer' 🙄😁.

I wish the hose on the RS was a bit longer I’d do that too!

Blo-Air dryer and towel combo for me. tried a leaf blower (cheapo one) and found i was getting water spots before i'd even gotten half way round the car, tried a pet dryer and that just kept blowing the fuse in the house 😂 one advantage of the Blo-Air is the length of the hose....i had it in one corner of the garage and dried the dog after a bath in the other corner (on the lowest setting) and after 1 pass she was dry and fluffed up like a piece of candy floss 😂 noise didnt bother her as it was so far away 😁

One advantage of blower is also that you can do contactless washes, too. You can`t do contactless wash and then dry with a towel. So you have the ability to do some contactless washes between the main washes or when you don`t have time, or after rain maybe.

Not owning a dryer,I would prefer to use it rather than a towel as I have very,very soft water so water spots would not be a problem. When I wash at the moment I just let it dry.

I bought a turbo jet fan xl from China and it's amazing. I think I can use it to clear snow in the winter. 😂 Since I only go to the hand car wash in the evening because I can take my time, I don't use the fan. Drying towels are also better for own fitness. I don't know but I'm the only one, when I'm done cleaning I sweat like a horse😂🤔

I normally use a drying towel on a maintenance wash but if I am doing a decon wash in preparation for a new wax or re application of a previous wax I will use a combination. That is a really good tip re drying the tyres prior to application of dressings. Are you going to do a video on the new Yum tyre strip product ?

I've never used an air dryer and at the cost of around £100 for the cheapest I'm highly unlikely to buy one .... Having watched plenty of videos of them i can see them being ideal for the nooks and crannies a towel wont get into after towel drying the car and as stated the car really needs to have a good lsp on it to give the beads to blow off
