I really just started. I don’t have film equipment, just my iPhone. Time is hard also as I am so busy with only my son and I finishing. If I had more finishers I would have no problem making more videos. Thanks for the compliment! When I am done with hand finishing videos, I am making a series of machine finishing videos!

I have never done this kind of work I’m remodeling my home to sell it and I was having trouble with bubbles. I would put the mud on and like he said take it right back off and I’ll let it dry and then I’ll put another coat on that’s how I get my best results. I am in Florida. The humidity is awful. This mud will dry really quick. I don’t have time to play with it.

Nice work brother 👍! What is your take on one day patch and paint?
@manwithapan2 жыл бұрын
It’s not an issue to do a one day patch but before paint the drywall mud has to be completely dry. Most people who do this use heat guns and a fan. Even though you use quickset mud for patches and it’s sets up fast, it stays damp for a while. I bed coated and finished 25 sheets yesterday and sanded it this morning. We had 9 fans on it and had heat up in house to dry it out. If you plan on doing a patch and paint same day. Just make sure it is completely dry before paint.

Now how about if youre doing a painted, textured wall? Like swirl, knock down, or skip trowel.

This is the way. You need to fill in all the air pockets on the surface and then you are good.

Great technique. What type of mud are are you using? I am typically frustrated by holes in my plus 3 tinted mud applied over easy sand 20. As you said, adding soap doesn't help. It seems worse when topcoating hot mud as compared to general purpose compound. But either way, always holes. I will try your technique.

This technique, though it takes a little longer, it eliminates most of them. You may get some small areas but most of them come out. I was using pro form blue lid on this one. I also use USG blue lid for finishing as well.
