Solid edit ! To be able to make a 170 mile moto vlog interesting is not easy to do . Swapping out jets mid ride , not only finding your lost shifter but having a spare on board ( wow) , capturing the moment a considerate driver offered herself as a blocker vehicle while stopped on the curve at the accident site and also capturing the momment an inconsiderate driver turned left infront of you . Couple all of that with good narration ,nifty camera angles and perfect tunes .Well crafted good sir .

Every time I think I’ve picked either a dr650 or drz 400 as my next bike I watch’s video that makes me question it. I’m a pretty aggressive rider both on the street and the dirt with 20 years of experience. I’m on a Multistrada 1260 now which is the best road bike I’ve ever owned. But I need a bdr and single track bike for a second bike. I’m 6’4 210lbs slim athletic build. I’m just not sure the drz will be enough on the street for me to get to the trails.
@linksgarage198519 күн бұрын
@@Commoncrumbs It’s a dilemma for sure. I guess it depends on your needs. I’m 6’1 215ish for reference. And it hauls the mail with me just fine. But I don’t ride the dirt on this bike. It’s just one of my street bikes.

I have never worked on a DRZ but that is the simplest jet change I have ever seen. You didn't even take out the bowl. My bikes you can't remove the main without removing the bowl or at the very least twist the carburetor so you can get ratchet access. That is the best riding and then stopping for a fresh cheese burger man you are stealing my life goals.
@linksgarage1985 Жыл бұрын
Not stealing them. You can do it to! And yes. The jet change was easier because this has the FCR39 carb. If it was OEM, it would have been more involved. Thanks for watching!

Seat concepts seat is awesome! And as for the jet change, I still don’t have it 100%. I’m running 2 rich. I dropped it to a 165 and may even do a 160 soon. Have to ride it to find out. But it’s super easy to swap. Literally 3 mins.

@@linksgarage1985 keep us posted for where you end up. If the weather down there is anything like here in northern PA the temp swing can mess with things jetting wise as the air density changes. It has a adjustable pilot air jet turn it all the way in then back it out to a little more than half a turn, install the 42 pilot then drop the main back to a 160 and move the needle down two clips dropping the needle. Your rich bro. I have the same carb. I can hit 108 np and I run a 38 pilot 60 pilot air jet and a 152 main with a DVT needle. I finally have it perfect I bought it when I seen how good it worked for you. You can probably run a richer main and pilot bc you have the full exhaust but try what I said I won't steer you wrong. Running it that rich is gonna contaminate your oil and wash your cylinder wall
@linksgarage1985 Жыл бұрын
It’s rich. I dropped the main last night. But the weird thing is I pulled the plug, and it didn’t indicate a rich condition. Odd
@jessecrawford2711 Жыл бұрын
@@linksgarage1985 it's breathing pretty good so you are probably close. I would leave the jets as is and just move the needle to c2. I think when I started playing with the adjustable pilot screw they had it set at like 110. I finally got mine perfect but I hated taking that carb out. I moved my pilot air jet to a 65 from jets r us and used a washer to get a half clip position on my needle. It's finally running great and I can get 55 mpg with all the balls the carb gives.

How much louder is your exhaust compared to the stock? I love the purple too btw. I just bought a 2023 DRZ400sm and it’s all stock I wanna get the dual yoshi exhaust on it! Sick shit tho. How much of a difference in wind hitting your hands with the covers on the handlebars does it help in aerodynamics?
@linksgarage1985 Жыл бұрын
First of all thanks for watching! Second, congrats on the new ride. Third, the exhaust is wayy louder than stock. And lastly, the guards definitely help with wind deflection especially when it’s colder. It’s not perfect, but it’s def not bad.
