The tailgate feature is if you back up to a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer you can pop it from the cab and back into your trailer

It also locks the tailgate with your locks instead of key locking so if you forget to key lock they can’t steal the tailgate.

I would buy the Lariat Ultimate package because the King Ranch, Platinum and Limited written across the Tailgate on the higher trims makes me feel like I am shoving it in everyone's face. Maybe I'm thinking too much.

I was thinking that I just didn’t like the look of that across the tailgate.....kinda just like the superduty wording vs the chrome placard. I was gonna ask if they could put a ‘standard’ tailgate on higher trim. I could care less what others think, I just dont like the look. Probably will deck out a Lariat just because of the placard.

Same. I really like the King Ranch interior, though. The tailgate ruins it, though. If it was a little badge somewhere that you could remove with a heat gun and fishing line that would be OK, but the full tailgate strip is beyond garish and ugly.

We bought a 2019 F450 Lariat package with upgraded towing and lights. We really wanted heated back seats and as we “made” our truck on the Ford website added that but this truck had many upgrades we would not have added for less money so we bought it after 6 months of looking and trying to decide what to get. We had a F350 2000 that we owned for 20 years that treated us well and now our best friends have that truck. Love Ford but have had a lot of small problems with the new one that are irritating….

Almost laughed when you said the tailgate step hangs nice and low….yeah it’s real low if your 6’ and over, smaller people, it’s pretty high. The dually is lower than the SRW, so maybe it is real low. On mine, 22 lariat 350 SRW, it’s pretty high up.

Not very long ago Ford used to be the only auto manufacturing company that let you order up extras that you like from 3 or 4 basic packages and it was reasonable if you just wanted basic seats but the full option mirrors for example. Now with all the lean manufacturing and gouging that takes place with upgrading to a package you really have to think about it. If your planning on keeping the unit long term it’s the little gadgets that break down one by one because of cheap components they all put in, that ultimately drive you nuts. 7-10 yrs is the maximum for these electrical components that drive the gadgets. Most of the time they’re not plug and play anymore, so you can’t change them out yourself because they have to be flashed by the propriety unit = $$$$

what about Lariat vs Platinum seats, lots of differing views on massaging seats are great vs they are not comfortable? Also the door handles are painted on lariat ultimate but not platinum, vs bumpers I think..

Hello. At the end of your video you stated that your truck has a 4.30 gear/axle ratio. I am thinking about getting the Godzilla 7.3 gasser (F350 dually). I believe this increases the torque but lowers the fuel economy somewhat. I actually heard even though it lowers fuel economy it does not lower it that much. What has been your experience with the 4.30 back end ratio?

My experience with the 4:30 gear ratio has been good. Especially on my gas truck.

When a gasser is already bad in gas, lowering it not that much is a big deal. My last truck, 2020 Sierra 3500 cc/lb with a 6.6 gas, I was getting at max 11 city, max I saw in highway was maybe 15, and with a trailer, 6-8 mpg.
