@@MatthewTheUntitled sub 20 is going to be a stretch when sum of best is 22:47. Not sure how much more time save is possible when he’s hitting all the parrywalks, pursuer, nashandra glitch, and throne watcher first try. There was 7-8 seconds of easy time save on the first parrywalk that he missed, maybe a few more seconds throughout the run with movement optimizations and perfect RNG - that still puts us around 22 minutes. We’d need some sort of fundamental route change to get below 20

What happened at around 5 minutes with the vendor in Majula? I only played through Dark Souls 2 once, I read about him changing his items once you hit NG+2 and burning a Ascetic will get you up one NG level, but shouldn't he be at NG+1 with burning 1 ascetic?

I know it sounds stupid but with the souls he got with giant lord, wouldn't a small trip to emerald herald and leveling up your character in strength/dex speed up the defenders/nashandra fight? Even after losing time leveling up your character.

that's actually not possible in this route, unfortunately. the repeated use of parrywalking skips several key story triggers in a lot of areas which breaks some of the NPC functionality in Majula. if you try to go back to Majula after getting the Ashen Mist Heart with so few bosses killed the Emerald Herald's dialogue options don't even show up.

Look it up. Shit has complicated timing. You can despawn the crow carrying pursuer which kills the boss

It's not super well understood, but the pursuer is "spawned" in the air, when returning to the bonfire all enemy are reset, and the level is reloaded, SOOOO either, the platform is despawned killing it or it's the persuer is "reset" by killing and reloading it, the pursuer is a onetime event and can't be reloaded, and it didn't use it's own despawn so the game concludes it "died" and sets the flag for give "dead pursuer item."
