I really like Floor Phantom's outlook on Bboying as merely a branch of Hip-hop as a culture... A lot of "Break Dancers" don't get that.

Is the music overdubbed? Can't say for sure, but it has that feel, and it make me uneasy.
@sewgood705112 жыл бұрын
i agree sort of, it does wreak of commercialization, but at the same time all these people are respected heads in the community in the U.S. things like this have been going on years in korea and japan, but we dont see much of it. the music is a obviously a little more tailored to a main stream tune, but at this level you should be able to execute moves to almost any generic break

when you have tie limits, you have to pull out your best in that time limit, its a good way to judge how well and calm they battle,
@dimenshinYT11 жыл бұрын
I understand that it's meant to raise the difficulty and to judge the dancer's quick thinking but honestly it just doesn't work well in a bboy battle. As you saw in the final round you have to pretty much abandon toprocking or a whole category of moves just to save yourself more time to throw down other moves. Again I know what you're saying but I really think it's unnecessarily restrictive, especially for bboys.

Yeah. I feel like this time limit thing threw Keebz last round off. It seemed like he didn't realize how short 15 sec is. Its like when Keepin it Real Goes Wrong. He kept it too real.
@Hotboiruben212 жыл бұрын
First time you'll see that bronx style in the main stream with the rocking. This is kinda historical lol.
@GooshyG12 жыл бұрын
keebz last set was cut off cuz of the time restraint so floor phantom took that last round. Keebz tops are dope but its not exactly "rocking" so floor phantom took that also. all im sayin is i cant wait for keebz vs kid david! that would be a good match up
@BboyhErOicEagle12 жыл бұрын
The time restriction is kind of annoying..it leaves them little time to do toprock as well as throwing out their floorwork and power/freezes. A typical bboy set is like 25-45 seconds long, 15 is just too short.

keebz kept dropping shit.... lol I like his toprock but I think phantom won because he showed more versatility..... I think phantoms first set started bad tho... when he was on his feet he looked off beat until he got to the floor... so far it seems to me like the newer bboyz with more style r losin to the older bboys with more foundation and better execution...... was that a raiz phantom did?? it looked real shitty tho

Don't say this battle isn't hype just cuz they chose not to do flashy powermoves. Footwork is the reason breaking is different from pretty much any other dance and Keebz and Phantom have some of the best footwork.

It's difficult to appreciate what Keebz and Kid David do without hearing the live audio of the event. Whenever I watch big bboy events like Red Bull BC One I look for cam footage from the audience and not the videos from the company. These professionally produced shows are not able to display the true atmosphere at a jam. So far my tastes are completely the opposite of Crazy Legs and Asia One. I respect them they're pioneers, I'm just not feeling their opinions. Kid David and Keebz for me.

about the music, its the only thing i think most people dislike in this show they should have got A few djs to put in some original beats they got

that is in a way a challenge, in how you make use of that 15 seconds and instantaneously make out something good, if you're some of the worlds TOP bboys, that should be what challenge you,
@swirvcreatives12 жыл бұрын
really thought keebz had that one, he got the 1st rond forsure, challenge round too (3 different style tops in 3 boxes anyone?). maybe tie for 3rd cause they both had slipups, and 4th to phantom cause of the time. but yeh...keebz over all

I'm all for a show like this but the format is horrible. The rounds are WAY too short. Who the hell drops a 15 second set...? How does one express themselves properly when they can't even take their time and get into the music? The lighting is horrible and stop it with the lens flares, it's not a rave or a J.J Abrams movie and at times you can't even see some of the moves. The concept is cool and I want to support the show but they really need to fix the format.

@jademao4312 жыл бұрын
I think people are giving too much shit on the times of the rounds, i mean, i understand that 15-30 sec isn't enough time to "express" your dancing, but it aint a show, its a battle, a challenge. short times means that bboys gotta leave out the filler get to the roots or lose.
@Ganzo61912 жыл бұрын
Not gonna lie, that time limit seems like it's holding them back. That's the only problem I have with this competition.

idk. for example.. if spee-d and keebz go against each other, spee-d just have to throw his powermove based sets as usual unlike keebz who have to read the music and flow with it, beat hitting and u know the rest. im not against the time limit itself but 15sec is... idk man

I disagree and agree with you. The thing is, that it's really difficult to express yourself in a short time, but that's the point... If you're good enough, you can do it in a short period of time. 15 seconds aren't much of time, but if you're really good, I'm sure, you can make a bloody damn cool 15 second set ;)

Mainstream won't understand hip-hop. Hip-hop isn't easy to comprehend unless you live the culture. You think the general people will understand true hip-hop culture? No, they will not. If it was that easy, I'm sure it would have already been done. I completely disagree, that this makes breaking look weak and "sickly." If anything, this is a good way to show the general audience the foundations and elements to breaking. Not just powermoves like ABDC. Only issue is the time limit..
@That0therG11 жыл бұрын
Taisuke, Ronnie, Roxrite, Marcio, Wing, Yan, Lil' G, Yosshi, Bruce Lee, Toshiki, Vero, Lil' Ceng...THOSE are top bboys... granted I'm bias to BC1 and no disrespect to these bboys on screen, but they can't claim that the 'world' is ONLY the usa... if u gonna say the best in the world, then u have to be international about it...
@808shy12 жыл бұрын
I understand this isn't something you could call "real" hip-hop. But, look at it this way. Bboys are poor. No matter how amazing you are, unless you're the best of the best of the best, you're usually broke unless you're running other jobs. I love the raw hip-hop culture, but unless bboys learn to be more flexible with being a bit commercialized.. we'll always be poor. People are hating because they think bboys are selling out, but you have to realize that they're trying to make a living.

I hate how everyone is being so fucking negative towards this. Bboys are poor and trying to make a living. Everyone on this show knows and respects the true hip-hop culture. Give some fucking support. Yes, this is partly selling out but at least it's not as bad as the first time bboying got commercialized. These are real bboys and real judges. Not like ABDC. Yes, the music is a bit more mainstream, but it's logical if you have a general audience. Stop hating.

why even call it a dance when you're gonna throw some fancy move for 15sec and call it a set... that aint no dance -_- if they wanna see ppl throwing some cheesy powermove set that you know you dont even have a time to learn the beat to beatride then i'd suggest them to go to a gym and look at gymnasts or something.
