im a popper who has been around bboys and learning their style for a couple years, spee-d had much more style with his movements, did freezes and some brief but great top rocks, and he hit HARD when it came time for his power moves.

plus keep in mind battling is very different now then back in times like the 90s, now there's more of a status of what a Bboy should be, but back then battles were more like who can 1up the other the best regardless of style or power, like if you were doing a little footwork with an original transition to 5 windmills to radars, then I would do footwork transition to mid level tops back down to footwork then transition to 10 windmills to radars then flares

imo it is harder to express your style/identity in powermoves, it requires time, effort, experience, and knowledge. i def agree with you on what you say. people now days are trying so hard to replicate the oldskool (emphasize on style, though im not saying all of the oldskool guys did only style) and often misinterpret what the og's and veterans are saying,(when they critizise the way koreans are breakin). im new to the game, this is just my newb opinion, correct me if im wrong. peace

Spee-D has always been one of my favorite bboys because he mixes his capoeira in so well with his style but I slept on Gravity before this battle but he way nastier than I thought he was but I honestly think the one thing Gravity had on Spee-D was that he had cleaner transitions and his moves flowed just excellently....great battle!

Both bboys came out hard, I was lookin for gravity to hit em with his dou le backflip but he didn't. Overall it was a great battle, I agree with the judges gravity took it. He had style, plenty of footwork, and hitting the beats. Spee d could've done some more footwork and hit the beats a little more. Props to both bboys. Respect.

People always look for these power moves in breakdancing. It's not always about that. Spee-D is a good bboy but he didn't add enough footwork or toprocking. Gravity had a lot of tricks, surprises, toprock, and dope footwork. Gravity earned the win and the both of them did a good job.

gravity won, hands down...Spee-D just didn't bring enough for this battle. I like 'em both, but Gravity had a lot more variety and originality....but that's just my opinion...and no one can argue with a personal opinion. and for this battle i just preferred Gravity's style over Spee-D's. props to both both bboys regardless of the winner tho! :)

Too many flares by spee-d i've seen him do great footwork and show great musicality and threads before, wish he would mix it up more, I kind of felt like he threw out all of his power this battle and would be repeating a ton if me moved on, wish he implemented more of his musicality. Hope Gravity pulls out the double back flip first round next battle, him vs El Nino is going to be raw.
