When I was 12, I wrote a fanfic on wattpad that actually got pretty popular, but it was SOOO mischaracterized and not accurate to the canon. Jack was a twink, Peter was homophobic, Henry was very weirdly strict, and Dave was...something. Every now and again I think about it and perish instantly.

People keep portraying Dave as a "Crazy but love sick cute fella who loveeesss Jack", and simply ignore the moments where he blatantly tries to manipulate Jack into doing bad things. hell, he even tries to murder Jack if he doesn't accept killing kids with him. Sometimes people forget that Dave is a badly done xerox of Henry, and treat him like an innocent baby who did no wrong, and that irks me to the bone.

@@Totallynotredtail yeah, Dave in the VERY beginning (like when he first met us in dsaf 1) he only took us with him so he could blame his shit on us if he got into trouble. then he saw us more as a reflection to Henry (and became crazy about us-) as we can see at the end of dsaf 3 legacy ending.. where he literally springlocks us in a bear suit to be exactly like Henry when he wore it.. He sees Henry as human perfection. But then at the end, we learn that Dave LOVES Jack because he is the only one who ever understood him, and saw him as a person instead of a monster, who caused him to be rejected by EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE in his life, but WE choose to help him, STAY with him, no matter how crazy that plan was. AHAJAKALAPQ I CANNTNTT THATS LITERALLY THE PUREST WAY TO FALL INLOVE WITH SOMEONE OMFG. ))): I WANNA GIVE THIS FREAK A HUG SO BADDDDD AAHAGHH.

Like, you have Dave who murdered Dee, is basically Jack’s boyfriend, and is just a very important part as a whole and is BASICALLY family The Kennedy siblings are related so that’s self explanatory Blackjack is literally Jack’s soul And Steven’s just… there? Like, he was a manager, but unlike the others there’s no deep personal connection to tie him solidly with the group. Would have been nice if maybe he had a deeper connection there, then it would have made more sense if he got his memories back with help of someone from his past, would have been a little more poetic me thinks. Oh god I wrote too much again.

With Black Jack it feels like a mix...I would have liked him more if he was nicer. He kinda forced the gang into fighting Henry in one of the endings and yeah I know it's for the great or good and all, but you're literally asking them to fight someone who traumatized them, ONE OF THEM BEING A CHILD, only for them to get retraumatized after Henry degraded them. Black Jack could have maybe been siding with Freadbear or siding with the kids but it just kinda feels like he's on his lonesome and doing this to "defeat bad guy we win yay!!" Like I feel like even DEE OR STEVEN serves a greater purpose due to what they know and their power

For 7:00, I was around in 2019/early 2020 and I think the main problem of many with the Henry and Jack ship is that it was/is often shipped for the sole reason of being toxic and enhancing on their toxic dynamic. Whereas Davesport, atleast at the time, either enhanced the parts where they did fit together or focused on the potential they did have aside from shit like idk, the eggplant ending- ALSO as for void, or voidsona's, they were usually just reduced to UwU twinkie boys lmao. Alot of them were set into a questionable and often problematic relationship with Henry, especially since one of the bigger artists at the time was saltypaint7, who haunts my dreams to this day LMAO
