My oldest sister had her full time. My other sister would take my mother out to dinner (she worked full time) and I (the youngest @ 59) would bring my mom to my house to stay for 3 or more days to give my oldest sister a break. I totally get it. Dad sounds so much like my mother and other relatives that had dementia. For 92, he walks better than I. I have R.A. and Osteo. The range of emotions in a 5 minute time span. 🥺 My heart goes out tho this family fans every family dealing with these issues). It has got to be heartbreaking on another level bc of the repetition. This man went from telling his son the year he was born, to questioning the year he was born. I can’t imagine the turmoil he must feel when he doesn’t know where important people are and doesn’t understand why he can find them or doesn’t see them. Truly a tough battle and this family handled is with like a class act. Inspirational and educational. You all are greatly appreciated. 💜

Bless Grandpa Ed❤Dan the compassion you show in moments like this is heartfelt. My father had these issues 7 years after my mom had passed. He would even tell us his(witch) girlfriend was our mom! That’s a whole other nightmare that we are still living today. Hugs to all families here going through this long goodbye.🙏🏼

Dan it is heartbreaking for him and you to watch but you keep patient and it's commendable how you handle everything.

My mother would be 91 too if she was living. She was born in 1932. Lol....God Bless your dad. The whole family. I love your videos and shorts too.

I agree. Patience and consistency are key - But when it comes to his Dad, Dan is a natural caregiver - full of love, compassion & humility. Dan's honesty & respect for Granpa's dignity is clear; he invests generously of his time & effort in nurturing their connection 😊 It appears to me that it is the quality of this relationship that underpins Ed's sense of security and day to day wellbeing 😊❤🤗 This ethos also seems to run through the wider family, allowing them to work together with courage & optimism to embrace the challenges that life presents. I simply love your videos Dan & Granpa Ed. With love & best wishes for cultivating joy in every day, from New Zealand 🎉❤❤❤❤❤

Shit, your dad’s teachings are so deep! I weep when he says “nothing you can do about that” because I still don’t understand as much as he does about life and death. So true!
