Love these gotta keep these up!!! I just committed D3 and looking to transfer to low D1 to D2 school after 2 years at the school I’m going to. The school I’m attending is the best in the conference but I’m a PO and the coach says I’ll get inning to get more interest..

The take about flat fastball velo is true. I’d rather hit a flat 94-95 than a moving 84-87. 95 is fastest I’ve seen

Coming from an All American 2018. D3. MY BEST advice is TO MAKE IT APPARENT to your coaches to HAVE SCOUTS at EVERY SINGLE game YOU play in. Don’t take NO for an answer. Get 1 scout at every game before having 29 scouts at 1 game.

1st, I agree with the d1 vs d2 vs d3. There are teams who can compete. 2nd, 97mph. fastest I faced was about 96. First moment I saw it, I was like oh that's cheese. 2 pitches in because they were all low and balls. I was already timed up. 3-0, he throws me a slider at like 85 and but it was a questionable call. I know they threw it to loosen up his arm a little for the fastball. He throws me another 95/96er in and I just timed it up with my hips and wizzed it passed his ear up the middle. Dude looked stunned and kept trying to pick me off at first. I was around 16 at the time, maybe 17 if my memory is correct. We won 5-3 and we found out after that was an Angels Scout team. Next thing I knew, 5 of our guys were getting called by the head of the Angels Scout team. We told them no, because we didn't want to play with guys who threw 90+. We wanted to play against guys who threw 90+ so we could get better. Hardly anyone that age had good off speed. That's why someone with great fastball command/control can really stand out even with an average slider or curve or change up. Nice discussions my dudes

My freshman year in college 2010 (NAIA) we had Doane in our conference and they had beat Webber International (NAIA) who had beat Ohio State 9-0 and Ohio St was ranked 17 in D1 and threw draft picks that game
@ryanmiller65602 жыл бұрын
Played at 2 Jucos Butler community college and crowder College both those teams I played on could beat d1 teams. Then some d2 teams like university of central Missouri could probably compete in Missouri valley conference or big 12 and do just fine when it all comes down to it’s about the money involved in the schools and programs

After both of you finish your college careers do this podcast again and address this question. What’s the difference between D1-D2-D3? I see y’all working hard and this is your opinions but just look back when you’ve experienced baseball at a higher level. Not hating just look back

Gonna put this in a nutshell for everyone asking d1 vs d2 vs d3 vs NAIA. Top 10 D2 and NAIA compete at an average D1 level. There is little to no difference between NAIA and D2. We played a top 10 D2 St Cloud State who threw MLB Nick Anderson in 2010 and should've won except one bad inning. Both theor corner outfielders and a other lefty pitcher got drafted. They would not hold a candle to NAIA at the time oklahoma baptist with MLB Julian Merryweather amd like 5 oklahoma sooner transfers. Saw 95 against oklahoma baptist, Bellevue, saw 99 against NAIA Tennesse Wesleyan. The difference between d1 and lower levels is more depth in pitching at the D1 level Some NAIA teams and D1 like northern colorado are awful and wouldn't beat a high school and TBH our NAIA college beat some D2 and would not beat my Texas high school team who had 4 draft picks including hunter dozier and like 8 D1 players. Our coach is the head coach at Central Michigan and they win 2 games at regionals every year and lose regularly to d2 and naia. Davenport, SVSU etc.

Unless you are madly in love with the game, D3 is a waste of time - cant tell how many guys I know that played D3, didnt have time to major in anything worthwhile in the real world, and dont know what to do with themselves after it ends at 21 years old.
