another superb video of a masterpiece, with the most chillax soundtrack. isn't it funny: the stunning detail on a stupendous loco model, with those enormous flanges as a nod to operationing reliability. looks almost a little reminiscent of trix Express. I'm sure it works reliably on the trix track, but realistically it does limit your track choices, I can see it going bumpity bump over anything lower than code 100. I might be wrong though... it obviously runs on your fantastic layout...

Interesting point. Actually, I don’t have an operational layout. The landscape in the video is just a diorama 😒 You are right - the “pizza cutter style” wheels are typical Märklin/Trix and this is the first Trix loco that I own, so it remains to be seen if the loco can cope with say Tillig Elite which is normally my preferred track. Glad you liked the video - and the music 😀🎶

Excellent choice with your track: I must admit I have tillig TT, but I am aware that HO elite is meant to be superb. From memory some models a while ago had 'clip on' flanges to enable operation on trix express track, and vice versa. Seeing as trix is meant for 2 rail dc it's a shame that shallower flanges or even wheels couldn't be catered for. Tbh, the loco is soooooo gorgeous it would like awesome just sitting there on your diorama... You have excellent taste my friend. P.s like the taking coal and sand...

Thank you for the nice video. I am new bie in model trains from India. I liked this loco. Is smoke unit installed in built? Is this loco good for regular running on the tracks or this is better a showcase model?

Thank you. I am glad you liked the video. The model is absolutely for regular running, but you can add some extra details which can give the model some difficulties if you have tight curves on your layout. The smoke generator is build in from the factory, but I am personally not a fan of smoke on models - I simply don't think it looks very realistic. Welcome to a great hobby!

Nej, desværre - det står der ikke noget om i manualen. Uden alt lir kan lokomotivet klare 36 cm radius, men jeg har ikke noget køreanlæg for tiden, så jeg kan desværre ikke teste påstanden. Som det ses kører lokomotivet uden problemer på løbebåndet, men det går jo også bare ligeud 😊

Glad for, at du syntes om videoen! I lige måde kan jeg så sige. Har set din film af E 991 i Kælderkøbing flere gange. Du får rigtigt udnyttet lydeffekterne. Ja, Märklin/Trix er ret klare i mælet mht detaljerne: De er til vitrinebrug. Nogle af dem, så som banerømmerne burde vel kunne finde anvendelse. Vi får se når jeg engang får bygget et anlæg at køre på 😊

Hello, I have purchased this from Germany to India. I observed that the right head lamp on tendor not working. It is very difficult to resend the model to seller in Germany from India. Is there any way I can fix the tendor light ?

Sorry to hear about your problems. It is difficult to say what the problem is - it could be a loose electrical connection or maybe a defect LED. It could also be an error in the decoder. If you drive digital you can try "reset factory setting" to check if it is a decoder problem. Marklin/Trix usually have very thorough quality control procedures in place so it is possible that the model was damage during transport. Sorry, that I can not be more helpful.

Not sure if they solve one problem and in return transit it will create some other. Let us see what they both replies. We have to pay huge customs for model trains in India (almost 80%). Really becoming non affordable business in Inida.

When the loco and the tank is in tight mode what is the minimum radius for safety driving?

Good question! I simply don’t know. I fear it is rather large, but I don’t have a layout to test it on. In “model mode”, i.e. furthest apart the loco should be able to navigate curves down to 36 cm radius.

It is a so called "smartRail" from Roco. You can see more about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIqVnIpmn7Sqba8 I am not sure it is in production at the moment, but maybe some dealers still have a few.

That engine almost looks to be of American origin, especially when compared to other 4-6-2 types that where built & operated in North America.

That is very well spotted! These locos were originally built in Sweden just prior to WW I and the designers were clearly influenced by both contemporary European and American locos. The Pacific-style and the semi-vanderbilt designed tender are both evidently US-inspired.
