But watching Shirley Bassey own the stage and pour out her perfect voice over the lucky few at Carnegie Hall right around the time of this recording still stands as one of the best vocal performances​ I've *ever* seen. My mother went to England and after sometimes keep on bragging about this Dame Shirley Bassey It took me a while to see who in the hell is this Dame. So I did try and listen to one of her song, Born to lose. I lost count , replace several head pones , even forget I'm listening to her music inside the classroom , in the bathroom, inside the bus, in a wedding reception of my best friend, even when my husband was in a surgery. Wow, My Way and This is My Life, it doesn't get much better. So many memories surrounding these two songs, mom came home from the hospital, saw Lana Cantrell sing My Way, and she also sang TIML. And even though she passed, she loved SB and I still do. My God, magnificent. Whitney was great, Lana was great, KD Lang was great, but this woman, she just has to sing one word and I burst into tears. And My Way, oh the memories it brings, even to the present. I've watched this video many times over, as I have the other ones of Dame Shirley's concerts. This by far is my favorite and I believe it's the best in terms of her repertoire, her voice sound more amazing and powerful by the good acoustics, and of course her beauty which is timeless. She's no doubt one of the best, if not the best, female singers of all time. I've loved her since I first heard As I Love You and I was about 15 years old at the time.
